About

Judith Ponsonby

Judith Ponsonby was my Father's mother. In many ways, my love for vintage manifested from my fascination with her and her life. I also have my mother to thank for taking me thrifting with her as a child, for teaching me how to sew, and the feel of good fabric. The women in my life have been a huge inspiration to me, and I share more about their lives and mine over at the Ponsonby blog.

I like to specialize in variety. Here at Ponsonby's you can find anything from classic vintage staples for the modern gal's wardrobe to pieces truly unique and funky. Whether you would like to dress as a walking time piece, or just want to spice up jeans and a t-shirt with a vintage cardigan, you have come to the right place. :-)

Like a lot of vintage sellers, I am a one woman army when it comes to this shop (with occasional help from loved ones to model clothing). I handle every aspect of running the shop so if you have any questions, concerns, or just wanna chat with a fellow vintage lover, drop me a line. I do my best to be prompt with my responses.

Ponsonby's is based out of the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon, these are my main hunting grounds, but I do love a good thrift trip and wander all over Oregon and California in search of a good find.

Frequently asked questions

Order Processing Times

I usually process and package an order within 1-3 business days. If for any reason you need an order rushed, don't hesitate to contact me and I will try to move your item out on the double.

Returns

In most cases, I do not accept returns except in the case of misrepresentation. These items are vintage and may show small signs of wear. I always try to carefully document any obvious flaws or wear in my descriptions, so if I missed something I will gladly try to correct my error. That being said, I will occasionally make an exception and accept an item back for store credit. I prefer happy customers, so please contact me.

Fitting Instructions

I know at times it can be nerve wracking to buy clothing online without the benefit of trying it on, So here are some suggestions to find out if the fit is right:

Take pieces from your own wardrobe that fit you well and are similar to the item you are interested in. Lay them down flat and take the following measurements as needed:

Bust: from armpit to armpit

Waist: smallest point at the middle (at the top for skirts)

Hips: largest point at the middle

Hemline: the lowest edge of the piece (mostly for sweaters and blouses which have no discernible waist)

Now double the numbers and compare them to what is listed. I recommend having these measurements on hand while you shop

Shipping Prices

I am often asked if I can ship something internationally for less than the price quoted. I use Etsy's USPS weight functions and weigh each item ahead of time in its packaging so the price quoted to you in the shipping section of the listing, or at checkout, is the exact price of shipping. If upon ordering, there is some sort of discrepancy, I will always refund any overages.

Discounts and Sales

- I put a lot of thought into the pricing of items here at PonsonbysVintage, taking into account current trends, materials, age, condition, and the item itself. That being said, I have been known from time to time to offer a coupon code when asked nicely, or for multiple item orders. All coupon codes are deactivated during a store wide sale, but will resume being active for use once a sale has ended. I do not combine discounts.

- I usually run a store wide sale once or twice a year to kick some stock out the door in preparation for adding new items and announce it accordingly on my social media platforms and here on etsy.

Trades, and Borrowing for Marketing Use

- I do not accept trades for any items in the store at this time unless you live locally here in the Rogue Valley and we can meet face to face to conduct business. Thank you so much for your interest otherwise.

- I also do not loan out items in the shop for use of photo shoots, fashion blogging, movie costuming ect. I am willing to consider loaning out items if you live here locally and we can meet to discuss terms and usage. Thank you for your interest otherwise and I am always so flattered when people ask to feature me using an item, thank you for your interest!
