Everything Tie Dye from scenic Hillbilly Hell.

I'm one girl living and working from the home where I grew up in rural North Carolina. I don't follow trends, I don't care what's "in," I just make what's in my blood and my brain.

I think clothes should liberate you, they should be an extension of your individuality. They should also be ethically sourced, so you can freely enjoy your new duds without the guilt of supporting a corporation that pays its employees slave wages and reaps all the benefits of a repressive system.

What is upcycling? Why do I do it? Upcycling (in my case) is taking a pre-owned piece of clothing and turning it into something new! I get all my upcycled clothes from thrift shops, yard sales, and friends and family. An upcycled piece can go through as many processes as being bleached, dyed, repaired, and reconstructed to be a completely new and original item. I love this process so much, not only because of the fun of taking something old and transforming it into something new, but also because of the environmental and economical impact. When I buy garments for my business, I'm supporting local thrift shops, Good Will centers, charities, and families. I can also get pre-owned items at a good price, so I can make them affordable to you, while not having to take advantage of sweat shop labor. While not all of my items are upcycled (some of the tee shirts and ALL of the underwear are brand new,) I am working towards finding more humanitarian sources for all of my clothes. Upcycling is good for the environment too, it's a great way to recycle clothes!
