I rotate them every month or so come back often.

Looking for that perfect gift for someone you love or a fabulous gift to yourself ? I offer fabulous jewelry that is unique & unusual, Many one of a kind & rare vintage pieces. Only the finest for your enjoyment.

Your dream piece awaits your discovery in the pages of my shop. Victorian, Art Deco, Mid 20th Century Native American up to Contemporary pieces of the 1980's are just some of my offerings.

My passion is finding unique Antique and Vintage Jewelry of excellent quality and rarity; I strive to research each of my pieces to assure they are accurately described and that the pictures are an honest representation.

Many of my pieces are vetted on the Silver Forum if I have questions regarding the piece or its hallmarks, I value the 2nd opinion immensely.

Please be sure to read the descriptions and view the pictures before purchase so you are fully aware of what you are buying. All sales are final but if there is a visible imperfection that I missed I will allow its return and refund of purchase price if notified within 3 days of the date you received it (please read full policy). I SHIP INTERNATIONALLY: Though to some the rates may seem high but I insure when I can or send registered for shipments over $50.00. I have had packages get lost in the Postal Black Hole and this protects both of us. For items under $50.00 I ship International 1st Class with Proof Of Mailing. This satisfies Etsy's buyer protection plan.

Reading my shop policies is encouraged prior to purchasing.

Thanks for visiting my shop and have a fantastic day !!!!

About

Seeking unusual and unique vintage jewelry from around the world and other wonders.

I’ve had a passion for jewelry all my life. Not just the owning of pieces but the appreciation of them as an art form. Different periods had styles that were distinctive to them but in the end they were all a vision of the artists that designed them and brought them to life to be enjoyed and hopefully handed down to generations to come. I search for pieces that you will be proud to own and I am proud to offer.

I have interests in a wide variety of periods and styles and the pieces on my site reflect this:
Victorian Periods 1837-1900 Arts & Crafts Movement 1894-1923 Art Nouveau Period 1890-1915
Edwardian Period 1901-1910 Art Deco Period 1920-1935 Retro Period 1935-1949
The Wearable Art Movement 1930-1960 Also contemporary pieces at least 20 years old.

I am a contributing member of The Silver Forum and bring many of my pieces before them for discussion and to aid in my research. I strive to find unique or rare pieces, not mass produced where you see them all over the internet.

Every piece is researched. Sometimes there is little to go by so I look for rarity, other times I find hallmarks and other identifying marks on the back that are researchable in my reference library or through the Silver Forum. This is time consuming but that is my other passion. Being able to pass on the history of a piece, who made it, where it was made anything I can find. To me, knowing this makes those pieces special by having that connection.

I buy mostly at auctions and estate sales and some pieces are from my personal collection. I love things that make me smile or go WOW when I see them for the first time and I hope you do the same.

So enjoy your visit to my shop, ask questions and hopefully you will find something you love.

Welcome to Portals from the Past. I look forward to presenting you with an array of fantastic vintage and antique jewelry. Some of the pieces are from four generations of my family going back to the Mid-Victorian Era. The rest are from estate sales or auctions. I love finding special pieces that talk to me. Researching old hallmarks has become a passion of mine so I try to tell you everything I know about the pieces you might be interested in.

Please be sure to read these policies before you make any purchases.

Fully read the description of the articles for purchase. If there are any defects I will point them out. Everything on this site is either Vintage, which is anything 20 years or older as per Etsy policy or Antique which is 100 years old or older. As a result they will have wear consistent with their age.

Pictures are enlarged to show details. Please be sure to read the discriptions for the actual measurements and weights.

Dating pieces at times can be pure guesswork. Certain clasp types and findings are helpful but not definitive since some very old designs are still made today. If the piece has a documented provenience such as certain hallmarks or dates then it's relatively simple. Otherwise I look at the design and workmanship, patina and wear of any marking on the back. I research sites dedicated to vintage jewelry and quite often consult with members of the Silver Forum that I belong to. However it is still a best guess. Purchase what you love and don't obsess on the date; I can't guarantee it.

If I make an error and unwittingly misrepresent an item please let me know immediately. I will make every effort to resolve your concerns. Otherwise, returns are on a case by case basis and must be brought to my attention within 3 days after you have received it.

Returns, if accepted, are subject to a 10% restocking fee and only for the price of the piece, not the postage.

All jewelry items will receive a careful washing just prior to shipment. I use a Connoisseurs la Sonic Jewelry Cleaner and a mild soap and water solution. This assures that any body oils or dirt are removed and your piece is clean for your enjoyment.

I will gladly reserve an item for you. Reserves are for 48 hours normally. If you wish a longer period please advise.

Shipping
Shipping within the USA: I ship using 1st Class USPS or Priority 2 Day and all packages are insured for the full value of the article. I always ship within 1 to 2 business days.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Postal regulations require that packages worth $400.99 and up cannot be shipped 1st Class International so I use Priority Mail International Package. For Canada & Australia I am able to insure it as well. Canada does not allow insurance over $675.00 so items over this price cannot be shipped there unless you send me a statement that you will not hold me responsible. I will insure it to the max allowed of 675.00 and will get a certificate of mailing. Contact me to arrange for a shipping quote.

Great Britain and Northern Ireland do not allow insurance so all I can do is get a certification of mailing. Once it leaves my possession I am no longer the owner and am not responsible if it gets lost in your country. By purchasing an item from me it is an implied agreement. I will send you a copy of the certificate of mailing.

Packages from $200 to $400.00 are sent 1st Class International, Registered with a Return Receipt. This is a very secure way as the package is locked up at all times during the shipping process.

Packages under $200.00 are sent 1st Class Package International with a Certificate of mailing. Once it leaves my possession I am no longer the owner and am not responsible if it gets lost in your country. By purchasing an item from me it is an implied agreement. I will send you a copy of the certificate of mailing.

NOTE: If you wish to ship without insurance I will need you to contact me through my etsy store stating this and that you will not hold me responsible for lost or damaged items. I will recalculate the postage and reserve the piece for the rest of that day.
Refunds and Exchanges
REFUNDS-Returns are on a case by case basis and the request to return must be made within 3 days of receipt. I will only consider returns if my descriptions and/or pictures did not include condition issues. Please give me detailed reason for this request. If a return is accepted by me you will be responsible for the return postage. It should be in the same condition that you received it, otherwise the return will be rejected and re-sent to you. I will give you the reason and send photos backing up my decision. Returns are subject to a 10% restocking charge that I may waive. Due to new European laws buyers must be allowed to return items as long as I am notified within 14 days.
LOST PACKAGES- Please let me know if a package isn't received within 2 days of the date I tell you to expect it. All US packages are insured and trackable. HOWEVER the US Post Office requires a 21 business day wait before I can file a claim. I will make every effort to find your package. If it is lost I will gladly issue you a refund after the required period of time. If it shows that it was delivered to your address I am NOT responsible and you will not be eligible for a refund.
For shipment outside of the United States 1st Class Mail can not be insured so my policy is " ship at your risk" You have the option of shipping First Class Package but the price is higher and varies by weight and distination but does include insurance. Please contact me if you wish to ship this way.

DAMAGED IN SHIPPING-If it arrives and the contents are damaged then you will need to file a claim with the US Postal Service for damaged goods. Let me know immediately so I can send you the original insured mailing receipt and proof of purchase. Go to your post office and ask for their form number 1000. Be sure to keep the box and all packaging material until the claim is settled. They prefer that you file the claim immediately but you must within 60 days.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you wish additional information on a piece please feel free to contact me. I want you to be happy and confident about your purchase.

Any requests to defer payment up to 1 week I will accept It will require an immediate 10% non-refundable deposit (that will be applied to the purchase price) I will create a listing for the deposit. Once that has been paid I will reserve the item for you and change the price to reflect the deposit. Requests over 1 week will require an immediate 20% non-refundable deposit instead but also applied to the purchase price.
