Announcement
Welcome to our small handmade studio located in Oregon's Rogue Valley! We make thoughtful goods inspired by the simple things in life: stargazing, beachcombing, gardening, reading, cooking, the great outdoors... As lovers of all things vintage, we see the matchbox itself as a tiny little piece of a bygone era that still resonates with us today and reminds us to sit down, light a candle, and spend the evening catching up with friends or devouring a good book. Most of our items are hand pressed to order on a vintage foil press that is the mainstay of our studio. Have fun looking around the shop and let us know if you have any questions!
Thank you for supporting a passionate small business and handmade goods!

5 out of 5 starsObsessed! I purchased this as a gift and had it customized — the shop owner was kind and communicative, and the notebook arrived quickly. Highly recommend.

4 out of 5 starsI like the notebook—the paper is nice, and the feel of the cover is good. However, I would go with the non-ring cover option in the future.

Shop name
So where did the shop name come from? A portmanteau is an old French word for a box or suitcase that opens into two equal parts (much like my matchboxes). The shop logo is derived from an imagined antique lock on an old leather suitcase, something like one would carry on a long train journey. And just how do you pronounce portmanteau? It rhymes with studio (port-man-toe). :)
