Announcement    Posh Fibers Boutique is a shop started in conjunction with our alpaca farm in 2013. Alpaca fiber is the most luxurious fiber you will ever put next to your skin. It rivals cashmere in softness, wicks better than wool and insulates, making it the perfect fiber for hot or cold weather!

Our shop features natural & hand-dyed alpaca yarns and products made exclusively from domestic alpacas. The yarns, rugs, and crocheted products you find in our shop are truly one of a kind! We focus on using all of the alpaca fiber, wasting nothing and keeping our commitment to this eco-friendly life style.

~~~~ A little about the yarns ~~~~
I developed four blends (or "bases," if you're familiar with indie dyer terms) for my yarns. They are all spun in Ohio and the alpaca, mohair, and wool fibers are sourced from the US. The blends are:
Also Ran (DK) -- This yarn is either alpaca/yak/silk/bamboo or alpaca/mohair/bamboo. Both are amazingly luscious & lofty.
Totally Toes (Fingering) -- This yarn is perfect for socks or anything else, really! It is a blend of 70% Alpaca, 20% fine merino and 10% fine nylon.
Silky Soft (Sport and Lace) -- I love the drape and shine of this yarn. In both sport and lace weights, it gives you all sorts of options! It is a blend of 70% Alpaca and 30% silk.
Wonderfully Wooly (spun in a single, Lopi-style) -- This yarn will change from batch to batch, but it will always be Alpaca & Wool. The first run is 50% Suri Alpaca and 50% Romney wool. It is puffy and lightweight. Lovely.
At any given time, I will also have 100% alpaca, in both dyed and natural colors, and alpaca blended with superfine merino.
Please don't hesitate to send me a convo with questions! I'm also happy to do a custom dye lot just for you -- whether you're interested in a color I don't have, or you want more skeins in the same dye lot.
Thanks for looking!
Hand-dyed alpaca yarns -- sourced and spun in the US!
Alpacas are an eco-friendly animal, being gentle on the land and easily sustainable. Our shop focuses on the beautiful fiber from the alpaca -- luxurious, soft, silky, warm. Alpaca fiber is lighter & warmer than wool, softer than cashmere and has wonderful wicking properties that are quickly making it the fiber of choice for both outdoor enthusiasts and red-carpet designers.
Our shop is making this fiber available to everyone -- in the form of carefully designed alpaca blend yarns that are then lovingly hand-dyed. Yarn for socks, yarn for sweaters, yarn for anything you want to love for years!
NEW in 2021 -- The Yarnies! Those yarns will be dyed in smaller quantities and only available to club members, so don't miss your opportunity! Additionally, each yarn comes with an exclusive bag and two patterns -- one knit and one crochet!
We also offer custom dyeing and wholesale. Please send a message to inquire. Now, onto the bases!
Our Yarn Bases:
* From the Farm (leaving soon!)
These yarns are all from my alpacas or my friends' alpacas. In most cases, your yarn will be linked to the alpaca that grew the fiber! Most are 100% alpaca, DK weight and hand-dyed, though, a few are left natural for you to enjoy the colors the alpacas grew themselves. A handful of the yarns are blended with merino (Piper and the Lopi). One very special yarn is blended with 3% pearl-infused rose fiber and 97% alpaca fiber donated by Sweet P. You will find a few skeins left of Lit Fuse in both worsted and sport weight.
* Also Ran (leaving soon!)
These yarns are a DK-weight, beautiful blend of alpaca, yak, silk, and bamboo or alpaca, mohair and bamboo. All are spun in Ohio and hand-dyed. These yarns will not be replenished when sold out, as we cannot find a commercially-available substitute.
60% Alpaca/10% Yak/10% Silk/20% Bamboo, 250 yards
70% Alpaca/20% Mohair/10% Bamboo, 250 yards
* Totally Toes
These yarns are a fingering weight, beautiful blend of alpaca, merino and nylon. All are spun in Ohio and hand-dyed. The alpaca is light and warm, the merino provides the needed structure and the nylon allows a little give.
70% alpaca/20% merino/10% nylon, 450 yards
* BaBaBaby (NEW!)
These yarns are a lovely blend of baby alpaca and superfine merino (21 microns). The dye loves this yarn! The colors are brilliant, the yarn is soft, and the memory is perfect for any project you can dream up!
50% baby alpaca/50% superfine merino
Fingering weight: 437 yards
DK weight: 246 yards
Aran weight: 191 yards
* Posh (NEW!)
New to the shop, this is a DK weight, 100% alpaca yarn that has been hand-dyed. This yarn will replace From the Farm when yarn from my own herd is gone.
100% alpaca, 246 yards
* Silky Soft
This 3-ply alpaca and silk yarn is a wonderful blend of alpaca and silk, providing unparalleled softness and shine especially suited to shawls and finer wearables that will benefit from the drape and sheen of this yarn. They are spun in Ohio and hand-dyed.
70% alpaca/30% silk, 350 yards
* Italian Toes (limited run)
This yarn will be on a limited run in the shop. The lovely fingering weight yarn is hand=dyed. You can find it in the Totally Toes section of the shop...while it lasts!
75% Italian superfine merino/25% nylon, 437 yards
