Me ha encantado hacer manualidades desde que tengo memoria. Una vez que aprendí a coser quise convertir mi hobby en un negocio.
Al principio de la universidad probé suerte en Etsy, sin éxito. Pasaron un año y tres meses y decidí que quería intentarlo de nuevo, pero de verdad esta vez. 'Precious Prep' volvió al negocio con un solo producto: una bolsa de maquillaje monogramada. Algo que creé tarde una noche, sin patrón o tutorial a seguir, que acaba de nacer de mi mente. Después de haber recibido una máquina de bordado para Navidad el año anterior, decidí probar suerte con el monograma, ¡y me encantaron los resultados!
Poco a poco se me ocurrieron más ideas de productos para agregar a la tienda. Conseguir mi primera venta fue una experiencia muy emotiva: felicidad, emoción, nerviosismo. ¡Esperaba que mi primer cliente estuviera contento con mis productos! Ese primer cliente también fue el primero en dejar una reseña: ¡5 estrellas! Estaba muy contento.
Después de 6 meses de presentar ideas constantemente, ¡los pedidos llegaban más rápido de lo que podría haber imaginado! Con mi nuevo éxito decidí que quería construir una marca. Así que comencé un blog y cambié el nombre de mi tienda a Sugar Spice and Sparkle. Si bien los artículos personalizados siempre estarán disponibles en mi tienda, ya que ahí es donde comencé, espero traer nuevas ideas de diseño a mi tienda que con suerte se puedan fabricar algún día para poder llevar un poco de Sparkle a tantas vidas como sea posible. Por ahora sigue siendo un espectáculo de una sola mujer aquí en su mayor parte, mi amorosa madre ayuda con el empaque y nos encanta cómo Etsy nos ha permitido pasar más tiempo juntos. ¡Espero que disfrutes de mi tienda y sepas que todos y cada uno de los artículos están hechos (¡y empaquetados!) con amor!

I have loved to craft for as long as I can remember. Once I learned how to sew I wanted to turn my hobby into a business.
Early on in college I tried my hand at Etsy - with no success. One year and three months went by and I decided I wanted to try again - but for real this time. 'Precious Prep' was back in business with just one product - a monogrammed makeup bag. Something I created late one night, no pattern or tutorial to follow, just born out of my mind. Having received an embroidery machine for Christmas the year before I decided to try my luck with monogramming - and loved the results!
Slowly I came up with more product ideas to add to the shop. Getting my first sale was such an emotional experience - happiness, excitement, nervousness. I hoped that my very first customer would be happy with my products! That very first customer was also the very first to leave a review - 5 stars! I was overjoyed.
After 6 months of constantly coming up with ideas the orders were coming in faster than I could have imagined! With my new success I decided I wanted to build a brand. So I started a blog and changed my shop name to Sugar Spice and Sparkle. While personalized items will always be available in my shop, as that is where I started, I hope to bring fresh design ideas to my shop that can hopefully be manufactured some day so I can bring a little Sparkle into as many lives as possible! For now it is still a one woman show here for the most part, my loving mom helps out with packaging and we love how Etsy has allowed us to spend more time together.
