About PrettyPolitical:
My name is Jorine Beck and I am a Dutch political artist who lives and works in Birmingham, UK. I love to give people food for thought, without dictating what they should think. I found that working with contrasts, metaphors and symbols allows me to create critical illustrations around global themes, but also leaves the necessary space for interpretation and nuance. Something that is often missing in today's public debates and something I would also want to see more in contemporary political art. I like to think of my work as conversation starters, and I am mostly interested in what happens in the space between the art work and the viewer.
