Celebrating life's meaningful events!
After the events of of 9/11 and surviving a heart attack, Laura began painting to bust out of the commercial work, makes some sense of what was happening in the world and to celebrate her life. While the collection of images she painted grew, and there was interest in her print reproductions, she opened her first Etsy shop in 2005: laurabolterdesign.etsy.com.
Laura also started creating handmade invitations, starting with her own daughter's bat mitzvah, and word spread about the unique look and quality handcrafted skill she brought to her work. Since then Laura has designed stationery for several online stationery companies and now makes these unique customizable design available through her newest Etsy shop. New designs are being added all of the time and Laura loves "meeting" people through Etsy and sharing her design with others as they celebrate life's meaningful events.
Laura Bolter earned a BFA from the University of Kansas and lives in Lenexa, where she has built a successful freelance business for over 20 years after working as a lettering artist for Hallmark Cards.

Additional policies and FAQs
All computer monitors are different, so your printed stationery may not match what you see on your monitor. While color may not always be an exact match to your monitor, keep in mind that we always make sure each invitation order looks beautiful and that the color is pleasing!
What's not included in the customization process
• major layout changes
• custom logos, designs, illustrations or graphic changes
• font changes require a $15 fee
Adding design elements such as a color backing layer or envelope liners may require additional time for assembly after printing and before shipping.
Photos used in photo designs must be high resolution (300 dpi and 5" x 7" or 1500 x 1200 pixels) and should not be cropped or resized. Another general rule of thumb is that a photos size should be at least a few hundred kilobytes in order to print well. If the original file resolution of the photograph, as shot by the camera, is not high enough, the photo will appear pixelated or blurry when printed. Manually increasing the resolution will NOT increase the quality of the photo. The best formats are high quality jpeg or tif files. Photos should be emailed to laura [at] laurabolterdesign [dot] com. They can also be sent by snail mail for scanning and will be returned immediately.
Photos can be changed to black and white or sepia toned. Specify this request when sending the photo. Very simple retouching can be done. Let me know what you'd like changed and I'll do my best to fix it.
Return address printing
Your return address can be printed on the back flap of your mailing envelope with coordinating colors and fonts. A digital proof will be emailed to you prior to printing for your approval. Printing can not be done on dark colored envelopes. The cost for return address printing is $1.00 each.
