About

Small and accurate details are my passion and goal, hand made beauties.

I've made origami since I was a child. In my childhood it was called origami if it is made by only a piece of square paper (it is not so important nowadays we make origami work with more than one paper, so-called "unit origami work"). That's why I make origami crane and lily objects which can be made from one piece of square paper in my shop. It's just amazing we can make 3D objects from a single piece of flat paper. I'm very proud of my culture.
I like the delicacy and accuracy needed to fold the paper correctly. There's no cheating. Do it sloppily and it will look horrible.
My inspiration comes partly from what I see everyday and maybe especially from my own background with Japanese culture - for instance the colour mixes used in kimonos, wagashi (Japanese sweets) and more.
In short you can say my works inspired by a mixture of Scandinavian design (my husband's home country, Copenhagen, Denmark) and my own home town, Tokyo, Japan.
Small, light, beautiful, and on top of it durable are important things for me in my work.
