ProfessorBooknoodle's Shop Announcement

At Professor Booknoodle we sell vintage books, antiquarian and rare books, antique pamphlets, vintage paperbacks and periodicals, vintage & antique ephemera, old almanacs, stamps and envelopes. Look here for old favorites, or discover unusual and unexpected finds. Feel free to browse our stock of books and ephemera at your leisure.

Professor Booknoodle offers one of the largest and most diverse selections on Etsy. There are all sorts of things to discover - from classy bindings to saucy vintage paperbacks, and wonderful ephemera. The stock is replenished frequently — almost every day!.

Of course, we're especially fond of books and paper from the Victorian and Edwardian eras, but also enjoy modern books as well. Vintage paperbacks are a particular fancy.

We have a nice selection of Antiquarian Books & Ephemera, which we display within the shop section Antique Books & Ephemera. Books in this section are at least 100 years old ... or older!

Shakespeare laid it out neatly in his Sonnet 59:

"If there be nothing new, but that which is
Hath been before, how are our brains beguil'd,
Which, labouring for invention, bear amiss
The second burthen of a former child!
O, that record could with a backward look,
Even of five hundred courses of the sun,
Show me your image in some antique book,
Since mind at first in character was done!
That I might see what the old world could say
To this composed wonder of your frame;
Whether we are mended, or whe'r better they,
Or whether revolution be the same.
O! sure I am, the wits of former days
To subjects worse have given admiring praise."

We welcome inquiries, and will happily answer any such queries with dispatch and completeness to the best of our knowledge. As a matter of fact, we've established just such a question and answer thread in the Vintage Etsy Society Street Team. I'm happy to answer any book questions , except for "What is my book worth?" or "What price should I put on my book." :

Hallo! I'm Josiah Booknoodle, and I've always felt that books were important in providing, not only sustenance, but pleasure and relaxation for the minds and spirits of readers everywhere. For many years I was proprietor of a used and rare book shop in a small upstate village. The shop was sadly closed many years ago, but I still miss it dearly. My partner and I are trying to offer an online shopping experience that reflects the spirit of my old shop. It is our aim at Professor Booknoodle to present an array of interesting and beautiful books. I hope you enjoy your visit.

Priority Mail upgrade is available for many items at checkout or, if it is not available, you can purchase the extra postage ( for destinations East or West of the Mississippi. ) by putting them in your shopping cart along with your item — just do a shop search for Priority Mail Upgrade. We are here to answer your questions-- please email us! Inquiries are welcome - feel free to send a "convo"!

International Buyers Please Note: Customs charges, Import duties, and taxes are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these
additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. These charges are normally collected by the postal service, delivery or freight (shipping) company, or when you pick the item up please do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. We do not mark merchandise values below value nor do we mark items as 'gifts' as U.S. and International government regulations prohibit such action. Also, we will always email you with the date that your item was shipped (usually 1 - 2 days after payment has cleared). Packages may occasionally experience delays in the Customs process. Such
delays, regretfully, are beyond our control.
