About

Our Prohibition Prescriptions are original from Sirotas Pharmacy located just 5 blocks from the U.S Capital with dates from 1920-1933

During Prohibition, the U.S. Treasury Department authorized physicians to write prescriptions for medicinal alcohol. Licensed doctors, with pads of government-issued prescription forms, advised their patients to take regular doses of hooch to stave off a number of ailments—cancer, indigestion and depression among them. Ironically allowing the well-to-do and politically connected access to alcohol. A pharmacy, authorized to fill those prescriptions’ for a fee, was located just five blocks from the U.S. Capital. And we have a record of that history! Sirota's Pharmacy 234 G. Street, NW (Corner of 3rd and G St) Washington, DC from 1920-1933.

We believe the prohibition prescriptions we have urge endless conversation, and make great gifts! Please send us a message if you have any questions, or would like to inquire about a special order.
