It started with our dear friend, Lisa

Our friend Lisa was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago. We created for her the original countdown that involved her family/friends. She said the countdown inspired her everyday to finish her treatments... and THAT is how Project Ribbon was born!

"Going through chemo is not fun, in fact it's unbelievably scary and so much more so when you are told you have to do 16 rounds over 6 months of your life. It weighs on you every day and the fear can be overwhelming. The one thing that helps you get through it, gives you strength and makes you feel a little braver is when you have friends and family standing by your side and supporting you through it all. Come to find out I have some pretty amazing people in my life. A week before my chemo was going to start, I was presented with the most thoughtful and meaningful Chemo Countdown Calendar. Basically, it was this cool frame that had little doors on it that represented each time I had to go to a chemo treatment. Each door had an inspirational word on it and inside was card with a description of the gift from one of my friends or family that made me feel so loved and appreciated; to say it boosted my spirits is an understatement! You don't look forward to chemo, but I did look forward to opening those little doors of love...it made such a difference in my mindset...it made me feel that not only was I fighting for myself but I was fighting for them too!! What if the patient has more than 10 treatments?

You may purchase additional pouches for $2.00 each and each will come with an additional card.

What if my Countdown was damaged during shipment?

We will replace the damaged product. Please send us a picture. The claim has to be made within 2 days of receiving the item

What if I have more participants than there are treatments?

You can either use one card and multiple names (2 max) and list both gifts on the single card or contact us and we will send you additional cards.

What if the organizer is not local to the patient?

Have the participants send to gifts directly to the patient. The patient should have someone local that will help him or her organize the gifts in the order of the bags.

There are many great ideas on how to repurpose the frame. There are pictures on Etsy of repurposed frames. They are great to be used as a jewelry holder, clip pictures (you can use large binder clips) to create a shadow box like picture frame. Plant seeds in the bags and watch little plants sprout! Clip "to do" lists, grocery lists, coupons or bills to the bar... The ideas are endless! Visit www.projectribbon.com for additional ideas.
