The gold is genuine 18kt gold that has been enamel-fired at 1100 degrees and is permanently bonded. Due to its thin layer, abrasive cleaners are not recommended. Alcohol is the best cleaner. Transporting your sculpture unprotected in a pocket or purse is not advisable because these environments are hostile. Treat it like you would a pair of sunglasses. With proper care and caution, the gold enamel finish will last a lifetime.
