Love my wool! I can't wait to begin spinning. Excellent service, too. I will definitely order from here again.

The fiber is beautiful! Clean and ready to spin, can't wait to get started. Rambouillet is so hard to find.

About

The Promised Land and Shepherd's Gift: GM1 for HD.

Today brings growth and change! We have increased our flock of breeding ewes. Introduced color by way of Bleu, and Dave, both black. And, partnered with Gwen Kitzan of Kitzan Family Farms for the addition of handmade lotion bars, lotions in a jar, lip balm and soap, it's time to give back!
Meet "TheShepherdsGift.org". A grassroots, not for profit organization, dedicated to raising funds to bring relief and hope to people and families afflicted with HD and other neurologic diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, spinal cord injury and stroke through education, advocacy and fundraising.
Huntington's Disease underlies my entire life with my Grandmother, Mother, Brother and Uncle just to name a few family members who have been afflicted with Huntington's Disease . In my shop you will find jewelry, wool dryer balls, lotion bars, and lip balms that are all earmarked for a portion of their purchase price to be sent to "Shepherd's Gift; GM1 for HD" to raise funds and awareness for Glycoscience Research. In the future I hope to raise sheep to support GM1 for treatment of Huntington's Disease.
Your purchase from my shop goes directly to the care and maintenance of the sheep and to Shepherd's Gift. I extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude in advance.
A little history:
Starting in 2007, my father and I began raising Icelandic sheep. We started with a few little ewes and a ram. After our first shearing I realized I could not bear to see all that wool thrown away....and so began my journey with the sheep. Along the way, my father retired from raising sheep and I turned to a fine wool dual purpose breed of sheep....the Rambouillet. I found my niche. In the beginning, I was sending the fleeces to one mill or the next and not feeling very satisfied with the product I was getting back. I discovered combed wool and started a new chapter. I found a mill that machine combs my fleeces into beautiful buttery wool top. Coming soon will be colored fleeces that will be processed into wonderful wool top by Zeilinger Wool Company.

Hugs,
Leah
