Announcement   Welcome to Pru Atelier!

I started this shop in 2010 as a venue for designing and making vintage-style clothing and accessories along with soft home furnishings. As I have had many items to sell after losing my sister and my mom - a de-stash if you wish - of collectibles, antique pieces, vintage clothing, pillows, fabrics and trimmings, etc. has taken over for a while and any new design work I produce makes an appearance as it becomes available!

At some near future time, I will be opening another shop on Etsy selling just textiles....printed fabrics of my design, along with thinning out a stash of 60 large cartons of fabric yardage, scraps, samples, trims, laces, etc.

I usually ship everything on the same day sold and latest the day after. If a weekend or holiday falls in that time frame, your purchase goes out the next available business day.

Checking my messages several times during the day and night is important, so your question or comment will always be answered in a timely fashion and never go unanswered.

All purchases are packed very well with padding/bubble wrap and/or paper and plastic protection, and have not had anything to date break in shipping! I do NOT use Styrofoam peanuts in any of my shipments as they are messy and items can shift in the box.

Overages in postage of $1 or more are happily refunded.

All items are from a smoke-free environment.

About

I am a dreamer ....

This is what keeps me on my path…

I see beauty in so much…everything from music and art to the beautiful mountain vistas that surround me. I remain planted where I am with a hopeful spirit and try, in this hectic fast-paced world, to keep a song in my heart ~

The raison d’etre for this shop was to turn my collections of both vintage and new fabrics, antique laces, ribbons, trimmings and buttons into treasured items of finery for others, but somehow the de-stashing of fabrics, trimmings, home furnishings, etc. has taken over for a longer while than I had hoped ~

Into the mix I am sadly parting with the no-longer-my-size collection of vintage clothes that I enjoyed wearing back in the 80s, romping among the historical mansions of Long Island's Gold Coast where many of America's famous "robber barons" once lived, loved and played ~

For when I do go back into creative mode, inspiration hits me when drooling over that fabulous vintage 40s dress with a beautiful cut and drape, the magnificence of color in a Venetian glass goblet, a wonderfully artistic piece of jewelry, the intricate delicacy of antique lace, the beautiful artistry of old magazine advertisements, and the flourishes of cursive script upon a 19th Century bill of sale....all play a part in the process ~

My previous wanderings included stints at a frame shop, department store, travel club, advertising agency, publishing house, for garment center manufacturers, my own sample-making business in the garment center, a lingerie shop, gift/decorating shop, home emporium, decorative fabric store, a luxury linens company, a small opera house and furniture store to name a few….and having designed and made many dozens of decorative pillows and soft home furnishings, contracted custom drapery treatments, designed and made fabric handbags, to clothes both for a private clientele as well as select retail shops....I've done it ..... Now, I'm on my own and I report to no one but you dear customer ~

So, take a few minutes to browse, do enjoy your visit and I would love for you to honor me with a visit again!

Welcome to Pru Atelier!

As I have had many items to sell - a de-stash if you wish - of collectibles, antique pieces, vintage clothing, pillows, fabrics and trimmings, etc., any new design work I produce makes an appearance as it becomes available!

  • Pay with PayPal
  • Buy with Apple Pay
  • Pay with Sofort
  • Pay with iDeal
  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
Merchandise will be shipped WITHIN 2 days of payment unless there is a holiday weekend.

RESERVED Items:
I will reserve an item or 2 but it is important to provide me with a time frame for reserving the item before I will do so. I will reserve something unpaid for a week or a mutually agreed upon time frame. Items not purchased will be taken off reserve and made available for sale again.

DISCOUNTS:
Reasonable requests for a discount are considered and sometimes accepted for items, but a discount cannot then be combined with a payment/layaway plan and must therefore be paid in full once the offer is accepted.

No further discounts will be accepted on items that already have price reductions.

LAYAWAY:
There are certain high value items for which I will accept a layaway payment plan. If we mutually agree on a layaway payment plan, the payments must be made within a day or 2 of the dates due (with allowances made for time zone differences) and I will invoice you for each payment due through Paypal. If you anticipate a temporary delay, please contact me so we may work it out. I may have to cancel the sale and refund payments already made less 20%, if payments are not made on an agreed upon schedule.

NEW YORK BUYERS: Sales Tax will be automatically added to your total. Edit
Shipping
Shipping
Please be sure to have an accurate USPS address up to date with both Paypal and Etsy. If an item you purchase is returned to me as undelivered, I will re-send upon your payment of additional postage charges.

Postage is as accurate as possible but if I cannot pack item(s) up beforehand the best estimate is listed. Please request updated shipping charges before you check out if purchasing more than one item as no 2 items are same size and weight. If there is an overage in shipping charges, I promptly refund overages in postage over $1.00 no later than the next day or or so after purchase.

I do not add extra for shipping supplies, also try to reuse them and I do NOT use peanuts for packing as they are too messy and items move around having the potential to break.

Some large or bulky items I may ship via Standard/Parcel Post and I insure breakable items as this form of shipment allows for mishandling. This is also a slightly slower form of shipment too, so please be aware that it may take a bit longer to arrive.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS: Customs charges are not added to your purchase by this shop, but by your country and are therefore paid by you when applicable. Please check with your postal/customs service before your purchase if you are concerned an item may have a customs charge.

Should you not receive your purchase in a timely manner as would be customary for your country, please check with your customs service as they may be holding it for your pick-up.
Refunds and Exchanges
As I do not accept returns on items due to buyer's remorse, if there is an issue with something you have purchased, please inform me of the fact BEFORE you leave a review/feedback....I'm sure it can be worked out to both our satisfaction!

Custom made items are not exchangeable, returnable or refundable, as these items will be made to your own specifications.

I try to describe each item accurately, have clear pictures, list all measurements and mention anything that would be a flaw, so should you be concerned about a particular color or any other issue, please contact me PRIOR to purchase. If there is the rare issue that I have missed, it is not due to dishonesty, but having less than perfect vision!

I also take the utmost care and always pack each item with sufficient padding and in plastic for protection inside the box to avoid breakage or getting wet. Outside of one small item, I have not had any breakage of numerous very fragile items that I have shipped over the years.
Additional policies and FAQs
For Damages:
If an item was damaged or lost from its packaging in shipping, I must take it up with the carrier.
PLEASE keep all packaging materials and provide me with a photo of the broken/damaged item along with a photo of the original packing material as proof for a claim.

All items are from a smoke-free environment.
