Ik ben een olieverfschilder, mindfulness-docent, docent modeltekenen en tatoeëerder, gevestigd in Milton Keynes, Verenigd Koninkrijk. Pulse of the Paradox is de plek waar deze vier disciplines samenkomen. Elk kunstwerk begint met de hand, in houtskool, dikke inkt of klassieke olieverf, en wordt vervolgens voor u voorbereid en afgedrukt.
WAT JE HIER VINDT

DE PARADOX
Hoe dichter we bij de werkelijkheid kijken, hoe vreemder ze wordt. De meest eenvoudige dingen bevatten tegenstrijdige waarheden. Deze studio onderzoekt die tegenstrijdigheden, en vooral de oudste in de non-dualiteit: je vindt wie je bent door los te laten wie je denkt te zijn.
HOE DE KUNST WORDT GEMAAKT
Elk werk begint met een idee dat verband houdt met de Dharma, of wijsheid, zo u wilt. Het medium komt op de tweede plaats. Het kan een olieverfschilderij zijn, een houtskooltekening, een digitale tekening of gewoon woorden. Elk werk doorloopt vele stadia van creatie en verfijning. Daarna bereid ik het bestand voor op de print. Een print kan de dikke, fysieke textuur van olieverf niet overbrengen, dus voor die werken herbouw ik de afbeelding meestal met lijnen en inkt om dat te compenseren. Houtskool- en inkttekeningen behouden hun vlekken, vegen en handafdruk. Een partnerdrukker drukt het af op zwaar mat papier en stuurt het naar u op. Als u een perfecte, glanzende afbeelding wilt, bent u hier niet aan het juiste adres.

Elke print is een visuele dharmalezing die je aan de muur kunt hangen. Het brengt de impact van een origineel kunstwerk in huis voor een fractie van de galerieprijs. Met elke verkoop steun je bovendien mijn studio en mijn lesactiviteiten.

THE PARADOX
The closer we look at reality, the stranger it gets. The simplest things hold opposing truths. This studio explores those contradictions, above all the oldest one in non-duality: you find who you are by letting go of who you think you are.
HOW THE ART IS MADE
Every piece starts with an idea that links to the Dharma, or wisdom if you prefer. The medium comes second. It might be an oil painting, a charcoal sketch, a digital drawing or just words. Each one goes through many stages of making and refining. Then I prepare the file for print. A print can't carry the thick, physical texture of oil paint, so for those pieces I usually rebuild the image in line and ink to make up for it. Charcoal and ink pieces keep their smudges, swipes and the mark of the hand. A print partner prints it on heavyweight matte paper and posts it to you. If you want a flawless, glossy picture, this is not the shop for you.

Each print is a Visual Dharma Talk you can hang on the wall. It brings the weight of an original into your home at a fraction of the gallery price. Every sale also supports my studio and my teaching.
