PULSE is an artistic collaboration of two sisters living coast to coast.
Rachael estudió bellas artes en la ciudad de Nueva York y Liz ingeniería en Boston. Mientras Rachael continuó viviendo y trabajando en la costa este, Liz se dirigió al oeste, para vivir y trabajar bajo el sol de Los Ángeles. Con habilidad y aprecio por lo hecho a mano, se inspiraron para construir su propio negocio. Ambos colaboran en diseños, cada uno ayudando a visualizar cada artículo. En la costa este, cada pieza se moldea, pinta y dispara y luego se dirige hacia el oeste, donde los artículos continúan en el ensamblaje, enumerados en Etsy y empaquetados. Con 3000 millas entre hermanas, la colaboración de Pulse las ha mantenido cerca.
El proceso comienza con bocetos, influenciados por artistas modernos y contemporáneos favoritos, simplificados a formas geométricas con patrones, colores estacionales y tonos neutros.
Estas formas se cortan a partir de arcilla cerámica enrollada, se lijan y se cuecen en el horno para llevarla a una galleta. Luego pintado a mano individualmente, recubierto con un esmalte brillante y recocido a su color y brillo previstos. Todas las cadenas y sus componentes son cuidadosamente ensamblados por Pulse.
Juntas, Rachael y Liz crean una colección de piezas de cerámica ligera para vestir su conjunto diario.

Rachael studied fine art in New York City and Liz engineering in Boston. While Rachael continued to live and work on the east coast, Liz headed west, to live and work in the LA sun. With skill and appreciation of hand-made, they were inspired to build their own business. Both collaborate on designs, each helping to envision every item. On the east coast, every piece is molded, painted and fired then heads westbound, where the items continue in there assemblage, listed on Etsy and packaged. With 3000 miles between sisters, the Pulse collaboration has kept them close.
The process begins with sketches, influenced by favorite modern and contemporary artists, simplified to geometric shapes with patterns, seasonal colors and neutral tones.
These shapes are cut from rolled out ceramic clay, sanded and fired in the kiln to bring it to a bisque. Then hand-painted individually, coated with a glossy glaze and re-fired to its intended color and shine. All chains and its components are carefully assembled by Pulse.
Together, Rachael and Liz create a collection of light ceramic pieces to dress up your everyday ensemble.
