Analog Prints in a Digital World.

Who?!? -- PumaOtter Prints is Luke David Mechem, a printmaker (and therapist) whose interests include visual art, Stoic philosophy, comic books, and the four furry beasts with whom he shares his home. And, obviously, Netflix-binging.

What?!? -- Linocuts, son. (But also cards and notebooks, candles, and ephemera.) Everything I make is lovingly and carefully made by hand.

When?!? -- At any moment when I'm not in an office or sleeping, I'm likely wrist-deep in ink, tending to paper cuts, or digging into linoleum.

Where?!? -- All at home in the wilds of Western Massachusetts.
Also online (www.pumaotter.com) and on Instagram (@pumaotter)!

Why?!? -- I absolutely love the process! Design and carving, then inking and pulling, then matting and framing: each step along the way has potential for fun, mindfulness, adventure, and growth. Additionally, every part of printmaking is messy--at least how I do it--and if that's not a reason why, it's at least a free gift with purchase.

How?!? -- By hand. Seriously. Like, all of it. So, that'll put us one step closer to Freedom from the Machines! The other answer to "how?" is: through your continued support, of course! A very sincere Thank You to the folks who have liked what I make and have helped keep me going.

So What?!? -- Guys, let's keep making things, okay? And let's keep buying each other's awesome stuff! This world can be a hard one to live in and, honestly, the future can look pretty scary. But we can create things, revive things, fabricate things, rescue things; we can support our fellow makers and take care of each other in the process. It's one of the reasons I do what I do.
