I discovered the art of weaving in my homeland as a meditation practice, connecting me with my Chilean roots and sparking my creativity; feeling inspired by every thread of wool that I touched.
Later, I started collecting wool from farmers who clean their own fibre in the creek beside their farms, then spin it and plant dye it in this traditional way, creating unique batches every time. The seasons and various plants that bloom at different times, also influence the beautiful hues that are produced. With this technique, the lanolin is kept intact, making the wool waterproof.
The word Punto was my nickname when I was a child. It means "dot" and also means stitch. Every piece I weave honours the simple yet meaningful way of life of my ancestors and reflect the traditions of my homeland. I am inspired by every single piece of yarn to hatch unique creations, giving you comfort outdoors in nature, or inside in the coziness of your home.
