Announcement   Hi! Welcome to our Etsy store! I make artist-created one of a kind puppets. My name is Lisa and I make puppets that are different in that they have no foam in their structures and are made entirely of fabric or fiber materials. I never repeat a puppet. If you buy a puppet, that puppet, and that appearance of that puppet, is solely yours, and while I prefer not to take commissions, I will once in awhile. Some people just need Frank Zappa in puppet form! Feel free to contact us and tell us what you think! I want to offer you the best in craftsmanship and materials with the fun things that you buy from us. And be careful, I am always dreaming up new things!

Welcome to Puppets'n'chains! We are two artisans who create works that we hope others will love to use and wear! My name is Lisa and I make the puppets. Mark, my beau, makes all of the chains and chain maille. Yup, he uses my puppets and I wear his chains, which is how all of this got started! Thank you for browsing through our works and we hope you will consider adding something that we have made through our hearts into yours! Also, let us know if we can be of help to you in any way.
The puppets use no foam in their structures and are their bodies are completely made of fabric. I knit, embroider, sew, crochet, and create puppets from fabric and other materials and each is a one of a kind. I use no pattern, so even though there might seem to be similarities in some of the puppets, I can guarantee you that each is unique. My philosophy about creating puppets is 'throw that fabric onto the floor, take the scissors to it and see what jumps out!'. Mark is more cautious than I and likes to combine patterns, color and other materials in his chain maille.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express

Payment
Payment is due at the time of purchase. We accept payment only through paypal. If you desire a commissioned item from us, just contact us and we'll work it out. Commonly, 50% of the estimated commission price is due at the onset of the commission with the final 50% due at its completion when we are ready to ship your item to you. Taxes are included and shipping is separate. If you cancel a commission, we retain the initial 50% deposit as it was likely spent on specific materials to complete your item, but the remainder is waived. We also reserve the right to relist an item not purchased when finished.
Shipping
We ship via USPS only and items will go Priority if size and weight allows. Insurance is purchased separately and we ask for delivery confirmation on everything we send. We will ship to the United States and Canada only. Shipping is done within 72 hours of payment and please allow time for customs clearance if shipping to Canada.
Refunds and Exchanges
We always request delivery confirmation. We will issue refunds for damaged goods only. If you receive an item that is damaged, keep it, photograph it and email us immediately with the problem so that we can instruct you on your next course of action. We want you to be completely happy with what you receive, but do realize that problems occur from time to time. We want to help, so let us know!
Additional policies and FAQs
We love what we do and want you to love it as well! Mark accepts commissions most of the time, but completion time depends on studio stock. Materials that must be ordered to complete your item will obviously take longer. Puppets can be done on commission, but are not preferred. Let me know what you want and I will see if we can come to an agreement about a commission. Puppets can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to four months to complete, depending on complexity and materials. Puppets are NOT washable and will come with tags declaring such. If they become soiled, try surface cleaning with a damp cloth or using some mild detergent on a moist rag. Dry cleaning may be an option, but ask me first! Size and weight of puppets and chain maille is in our item descriptions. Enjoy!
