About Puppitymamas

Sales 76
On Etsy since 2016

Cute enough for your little gothic princess, unique enough for your special needs superhero, and sturdy enough for your little punk. 100% original.

Puppity Mamas products are made by a disabled wife and wife team of service dog owners and trainers who became frustrated with mass produced dog clothes. (Call us Mama1 and Mama2)

Mama1 spent time making costumes in the theater and discovered that the same skills that allowed her to create quick, accurate patterns for human bodies allowed her to make quick and accurate patterns for dog bodies. Who knew? She brings over 30 years of sewing and design experience to the table.

Mama2 has the patience 1 lacks, and loves to add hand sewn and embroidery touches, two projects 1 avoids with creative and occasionally foolhardy inventiveness.

All purchases made from us support our household and keep our service dogs happy, healthy, and working. We appreciate every one. We support charitable endeavors, too, so watch our shop for special edition items which benefit local pet nonprofits.

We make unique patterns for each dog, custom fabrics as needed, and discriminating fabric choices always to avoid everything that frustrates us about the dog clothes we've bought and shopped for our service dogs.

Our goal is always well-dressed, happy, comfortable dogs and satisfied owners.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure for PuppityMamas custom dog clothing?

We’re glad you asked! The most frequent questions we see are about the lower neck to rib measurement and the rib band width. The easiest way to think of these two measurements is that, when added together, they equal the length of the harness or bodice on your dog. The first takes you to the widest part of the ribs, right behind your dog’s “elbow,” and the other tells us how far the ribs continue past that point before becoming belly. Together, they help us ensure that the band doesn’t chafe the front legs or dig into the belly.

Many of our clients find our short YouTube video helpful to explain how and where to measure when measuring for the first time: https://youtu.be/zH7FGg2t1-o

Custom and personalized orders

1/31/20: Due to unforeseen life circumstances, though we still love custom work, we are temporarily unable to accept custom orders.

We love custom orders! We will work with you to design the outfit for your dog, including materials, special requirements, and fit. Then, we sketch it out so that your custom order includes concept sketch and all planned materials and inclusions.

We hope you understand that once a custom order is finalized and ordered, we will need to charge for any subsequent changes as they require additional time and materials from us once we’ve started the purchasing and construction process.
