It started with a simple problem: not enough choices.
As a designer and knitter, I spend hundreds of hours on a single piece. When it came time to wash those hand-knit sweaters and socks, I was frustrated by the limited options on the market. Most wool washes were either packed with synthetic fillers or only came in one or two standard scents. I wanted a product that was as high-quality as the wool I was using—something minimalist in formula but maximalist in experience.
The "Less is More" Philosophy
I went back to basics to create a no-rinse formula that focuses on what actually matters. By stripping away the unnecessary additives, I developed a wash that:
* Preserves the natural integrity of the fibres.
* Uses only essential, shelf-stable ingredients.
* Is gentle on the hands and the planet.
Inspired by the Senses
While I wanted fewer ingredients, I wanted more variety in how my finished projects smelled. PurlClean was born from the idea that blocking your latest project should feel like a spa day for your yarn.
