QZ Cookies - More Than a Hobby

Hello, my name is Susie, and I am the cookie maker :)

I first started decorating cookies in 2011, when I saw beautiful decorated sugar cookies online. I was intrigued, and went out right away to purchase all the materials I needed to start this new hobby. As with a lot of my other interests, I figured this would pass and I would find something different to move on to. And I did...for a little while.

I rediscovered cookie decorating after I had my daughter in late 2012. At the time, I wanted to find something fun and interesting to do while I adjusted to life as a stay-at-home mom. I was also going through some personal issues and needed a healthy outlet. After trying out different things, I gave cookie decorating another try, and I was hooked! It quickly became more than a hobby.

It took me more than a year to reach the point where I was comfortable enough to give my cookies to people outside of family and friends. Through much trial and error with recipes, packaging, shipping, and self confidence, I finally opened my Etsy shop in June of 2014, and I couldn't be happier!

The name came from a nickname I've had for a while. I would go by "Susie QZ" instead of "Susie Q." QZ Cookies just seemed like the perfect fit!

I take great care with every order I receive, and I am reminded of why I chose this wonderful hobby and how fulfilled it makes me feel. I love it!

So there's my cookie story! Thanks for reading, and I hope it gives you a little insight into what QZ Cookies is all about :)

Returns and exchanges
Unfortunately, QZ Cookies cannot accept any returns or exchanges, and we cannot offer any refunds. Because the product you are purchasing is edible and perishable, all sales are final. Any breakage or mishandling on USPS's part is something I have no control over, however, you are more than welcome to report any claims to USPS should your package arrive obviously mishandled.
We accept all major payment methods, including PayPal and debit/credit cards.
I ship USPS Priority Mail, which usually takes 2-3 days to ship (although I cannot guarantee it!).

Depending on which cookies you order, they can take anywhere from 1-7 days to prepare, and that doesn't include the shipping time, which can be anywhere from 1-3 days. This means that it is possible your cookies will not reach you until almost 2 weeks after you order, so please plan accordingly.

Shipping for decorated sugar cookies: cookies are packaged in their own plastic baggie, and then individually wrapped in bubble wrap. The cookies are then placed in a baker's box, which is placed in a bigger box with padding all around.

Shipping for all other cookies: the cookies are wrapped together in plastic treat baggies and sealed with twist ties. They are then placed in a padded baker's box which is placed in a padded bigger box.

I take EXTREME care and caution when packaging the cookies, but once the box is out of my hands, I am no longer responsible or in control of what happens on behalf of USPS.

To be on the super safe side, you may order a few more cookies on the off chance breakage occurs. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
Additional policies and FAQs
Every cookie is handmade, so your cookies may not look 100% exactly like the picture, or like every other cookie in the box, but they will still look good (and taste even better)!

QZ Cookies is slightly different in that, for decorated sugar cookies, I use a corn syrup based icing as opposed to royal icing, ensuring the absolute best (and sweetest!) taste possible for your cookies.

My cookie making process can take anywhere from 1-7 days. Depending on the cookies, I may be able to rush orders for an extra fee.

If you would like a custom order, feel free to contact me! I'd love to collaborate with you and provide you with something unique and special, just for your event.

FOOD ALLERGY ALERT! I may not use a common allergen in my cookies, but they are made in a kitchen where common allergens are present. Allergens include: wheat, dairy, eggs, milk, soy, peanuts, tree nuts and more.

For any other questions, comments, or concerns, my inbox is always open. I look forward to hearing from you! : )
