It's all about the connecting energy.

I've always been "artsy" & have tried many ways to express myself throughout my life. I have used water colors, macrame, beading, silk flower arranging, and many other mediums but always felt something was missing. Then I started to create wind chimes out of imported, hand-made tin temple bells with the hanging string constructed out of semi-precious stones, crystal beads, and/or glass beads. All of a sudden there was a connection that made me feel a real part of my art. The more I worked with these natural items, the more I felt their individual energies. So I started researching the metaphysical properties of the materials I use to create my artwork. This lead me to expand my creations to Agate Wind Chimes, Dream Catchers, Sun Catchers, and Fairy Sculptures. Some of my artwork is sold at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival out of the booth named Druid's Grove, run by our son Jesse King. (My husband & I also have a Face Painting booth at KCRF called Fantasy Faces.) I do a lot of custom design work so my customers, friends, & family insisted that I needed to sell my artwork on Etsy, so here I am.
My belief is that all things have a connecting energy, the more I work with natural mediums (stone, wood, pearl, hemp, shells, etc.), the more this has been validated for me. As I design & create, I can feel the energy of the materials that are being used. The wood pieces come from walks by the lakes with my husband & dogs, along with interesting pieces given to me by friends. These are de-barked, cut to show interesting shapes/areas, sanded, oiled, and/or varnished then used in my artwork. The stones I use are either natural or synthetic (man-made) so that the energy signature stays "true". Imitation stones & other materials do not have the same chemical composition as the stone/material they are "imitating" so the energy is not the same. Synthetics have the same chemical makeup so the energy is the same as the natural item. What energy the medium provides along with the metaphysical meaning of the colors & shapes help me create artwork that actually feels good besides being pleasing to the eye. Blessings to you & yours.
