Announcement   Vending at S.H.A.R.E. festival 9/22/16 to 9/25/16. Any orders received until 9/26 will not go out until 9/27. Internet service will be limited so messages may not be answered as quickly as usual. Thanks for your understanding.

Welcome to my itty bitty boutique!
Read on for announcements about new items and changes.

Making a change.. Due to the unpredictability of dye I just can't always copy an item. From now on I will not accept custom orders for dye painted or tie dyed items based on the exact outcome of another one I did in the past. A few items are very popular so I will do batches and offer them as time permits.
If you are interested in a particular item let me know and I'll send out a note when the item/items are available. Thanks for your understanding.

New Items: T-Skirts and Beanies made from upcycled t-shirts! I got a deal on a huge pile of them and in honor of Our Mother, Gaia, I've given them new life instead of a new home at a landfill. They are perfectly clean and chosen for the best appeal. See Clothing for skirts, Headwear for the beanies.
If you like it, get it. They can't be repeated. And I might not get such a deal again!

If you see something you like but not in the exact way you wish, just ask!
At least half of what is sent out of Free Spirit Sewing is Custom Ordered. Allow 2 weeks for completion but I almost always send within a week. Feel free to check my reviews! Every item that I send out is of the best quality and matched to your specifications with the ultimate care.

-New! Doll patterns! Keep on the look out for new editions!

***Policy change: I'm switching away from free shipping. I know that this is a wonderful option for you but I still keep the cost down for you. Some items are still listed with free shipping and those will be honored.

I quilt, design my own patterns, dye fabrics, make my own stamps, paint, and whatever it takes to achieve any crazy idea that comes my way, whether it’s from my own imagination or someone else's.
Please like b.z.threads on Facebook! It's the main place I post new things you might like to see right in your news feed!

Updates

Working through the piles of tshirts. It didn't seem like so many when I bought them!
Wrapping rose quartz and adding final embellishments on a new Earth Elemental style on velvet
New item in the shop! T-Skirts are t-shirts upcycled into new life.
All sizes will be available or request your own!
I got a great deal on these T's and it's reflected in the price. Very affordable, wearable art!
But, when they're gone, they're gone.

About

A little bit about my shop...

I believe we all born to do something special in our lives and part of that mission is to uplift others whenever we can. Over the years I’ve struggled with just what my mission is and could it really be through making art? I think the answer is yes.

I think of myself as a visual translator. I use images, symbols, colors, numerology, astrology, spiritual concepts and Divine Inspiration to tell a story- to invoke a feeling- that lends itself to serving a purpose for the item’s owner.
I want my art to be meaningful! That fulfills me when I know it has reached someone on that special level.

I work out of a small room of my home in Amity Township Pennsylvania that I customized with a wall of built in shelving for all my supplies. I love this old house! No one knows for sure when it was built but the earliest map we've seen with the property is dated 1875. It's a farm house with gingerbread woodwork on the porch, a Victorian iron fence in the front, humble double front doors and 2 half round windows on the second floor. It was a DIY project that took a decade to fix up.

My business name is b.z.threads because my name is difficult for people to pronounce. I changed my shop name to Free Spirit Sewing in 2015 which is evolving to perhaps Free Spirit Sowing. SkyGirl dolls and Eccentric Everyday both fall under the b.z.threads umbrella. I'm figuring all of this out as I go along. That's why I love Etsy so much. It's very forgiving of those of us who love to create but don't necessarily have business training.

I opened my etsy shop when I had a patchwork collage art bag published in Quilting Arts Magazine in Spring 2008. It was such a thrill! I realized that I really could do something with sewing and art that was bigger than a hobby. All of the start up money to keep buying supplies and pay fees came from coupon clipping. I kept track of my savings and put that money aside for the expenses. This is another reason I love Etsy. It doesn't cost a lot to get started.
I'm proud to say that each year this micro business has continued to grow and it's on it's way to being my full time that pays all the bills.

Custom orders are welcome! I ask 2 weeks of time but I usually get them done and shipped out much sooner.

Thank you for your interest in my shop!
Warmest Blessings,
Barbara
