QuiltCorner's Shop Announcement

Thank you for visiting my Etsy shop.

12 x 16 PILLOWS:

We've always called them "breakfast pillows" because they are ideal for having breakfast in bed. I have a heck of a time finding the pillow cases in stores and when I do, the selection is very limited and they are always a bit too small.

The perfect size for those who have painful neck and back, headaches, or fall asleep on the couch.

Also great for travel and for toddlers. They make lovely, practical gifts.

Pillow cases are not pre-washed. I recommend you wash before using. Colored cottons can fade so wash with similar colors.

Let me know if your purchase is a gift and I will be happy to wrap or package it accordingly for you at no extra charge. Be sure to include content of gift message.

No invoice or packing slip is sent to recipient.

I use designer fabrics so prices and price variations depend on that. Unlike books, prints get one run from the design house so if you see something you really like, I recommend you get it because chances are I will not be able to get that print again.

The quilt tops are 100% cotton. Most are reversible because I just don't see much sense in going through all the trouble to design a quilt and then simply add a muslin backing. For warmer climates, I recommend a cotton backing and for colder climates, a soft flannel backing is cozier for smaller quilts.

I like to give the new owner their choice of non-allergenic polyester batting or cotton batting. The poly batting is a bit fluffier and only a bit warmer. The cotton batting (which I personally prefer) is more traditional and has a lovely natural drape.

Some quilting is done by machine and some by hand. The pattern usually dictates which technique is best. The fabrics are designer quality. I shop carefully for quality fabrics, threads and batting, regardless of price, because I still believe a quilt should last for many generations!

Fabrics are prewashed to prevent future fading and shrinkage. Small soiled spots can be cleaned with a laundry stick. If a quilt is damaged, it can often be repaired. Worn bindings can be replaced too. Instructions for caring for your quilt are included.

I'm proud to say that everyone who has gotten one of my quilts, has come back for at least one more! I cannot imagine a nicer compliment. They make the most thoughtful and practical gifts and everyone seems to want to share them with friends and family members.

Baby/toddler gifts never seem to be outgrown. At about the age of 5 or 6, they make great wall hangings and then when the child is older, the quilt can be washed and packed (not in plastic) for the next generation. Wrapped in a cotton sheet works best or you may use acid-free tissue paper.

I would love to make an heirloom quality quilt for you. Just contact me and we can discuss your personal style and preferences. My goal is to bring this long loved American tradition into your 21st century home.

I have a small, very clean dog in my home. I also frequently allow guests to smoke cigarettes in my home. I do not however allow pups to smoke in my home. People with allergies or other sensitivities should wash items as soon as they arrive.. If the item is not washable (all of mine are), I advise a tumble in your dryer on a cool or fluff setting along with a scented or unscented fabric softener dryer sheet.

Warmth Wishes,
