Announcement   There is no better gift than something handmade! Baskets make perfect gifts all by themselves, AND they can be filled with smaller gifts or treats. Buy several baskets and make me an offer. Postage is less for multiples, so we will see what we can do to make this purchase special for you and others you care about!

My quilts and baskets are made from my hands and my heart. All quilts are machine pieced and quilted and are made of washable 100% cotton fabric. My style is definitely contemporary and always evolving. I love to work with batiks and Japanese fabrics…and have been known to love making black and white quilts as well as brightly colored quilts. I have expanded my repertoire to include baskets/bowls of all shapes and sizes, coasters, trivets, footstools and handbags. I have made over 400 baskets over the past 5 years and have perfected my technique, so that every basket is solid, well-made and ready for multiple uses.

Creating quilts and baskets is my bliss and I hope that owning one of my quilts/baskets will create bliss for you as well!

About

Quilting Hobby Catches Fire

What started as a hobby when I was working full-time has really just taken off and caught fire since I retired in the last three years. I started by making baby quilts every time one of my friends was pregnant...and ended up with a lot of extra quilts, fabric, and ideas. Eventually the stack of quilts and baskets started taking up too much space and I began to sell some of my creations.

I love working with fabric and am starting to discover how to make products that are appealing to a broad audience.

I have created over 400 baskets over the past 5 years and I guarantee the craftsmanship and quality. Over the years, I have developed new shapes and techniques that make my baskets unusual and definite conversation-starters. Often people will buy several baskets at one time to give as gifts, once they have seen the work that goes into the creation of each basket. Let me know if you desire certain colors and I can fill the order fairly quickly.

All of my work is guaranteed. If you don't like it, send it back. I truly want to put a smile on your face and want each item to be treasured in its new home as it is here with me.

I have been sewing since I was about 8 years old and have enjoyed making quilts, baskets, handbags, footstools, and just about anything that can be made on a sewing machine. I am constantly trying new techniques/materials and refining my craft.

Creating quilts is my art and my passion. I make sure that I only use top quality materials and I take pride in the precision of my piecing and finishing work.

All quilts are one of a kind, though if you see something you like and would like to request different colors or fabrics, we can talk.

Payment
Payment Methods: I accept PayPal, money orders (including international money orders) and personal checks.

If I receive a personal check I may have to wait until the check clears before sending out your order.

Taxes: If you live in the state of Washington, PayPal will automatically add 9% to your invoice.
Shipping
Methods: I ship by USPS, Parcel Post, which may take as much as a week to arrive to US locations. The reason for this is that some quilts are heavy and shipping Parcel Post will save you money. If you are in a hurry, I would be happy to send Priority or even by Express. Just let me know your preferences and I will let you know how much the additional charge will be.

Turn around time: Once payment is received I will ship within a day or two.

Insurance and Confirmation are included.

I do ship internationally. However items weighing over 4 pounds will cost significantly more.
Refunds and Exchanges
Refunds are permissible but the buyer must pay shipping for the return (and the item must arrive intact). Exchanges are permissible but the buyer would pay shipping for return of item and sending out the new item.

Any damage that occurs during shipping entitles the buyer to a complete refund (or exchange) minus shipping costs.
Additional policies and FAQs
All batik fabrics are pre-washed and you should not experience any problems with laundering.

I am happy to consider custom orders.
