Announcement   Hello, if you're noticing listings being removed it's because they're being sold at the Interlochen Farmers Market or various Art Shows. I will do my best to replenish as quickly as possible, but note that I rarely will make something more than once. There are just too many beautiful designs that I can't get to fast enough that I generally won't make the same thing twice. If you're in the Traverse City, Michigan area, come out to the Interlochen Farmers Market on Sundays (9am - 2pm) and see my listings in person, or take a peek at the events page to see the art shows I will be attending. I'm looking forward to meeting you. Hannelore

Peruse our etsy shop and facebook page to see custom quilts I've made; quilts currently for sale, and photos for inspiration for that custom quilt I can make for you.

And Remember . . . Live Life Like a Quilt.
Be soft when it's important; Be Warm when it's Cold; Be Proud to show your True Colors; and always Scrap together when times are Tough. (Author Unknown)

This quilt is a work of art. The online photos don't do the colors justice--the fabrics are bright and lovely. The craftsmanship is amazing--so many pieces carefully stitched with a pattern that merits display both front and back. This quilt just makes me happy every time I look at it. I would highly recommend this seller and hope she continues to make many other similarly wonderful pieces.

Another version of the burgundy spread cloth this time on a beautiful violet print. Quilted with black thread and highlighted with violet metallic thread.
The quilting design that was used on the burgundy cloth shown here on a beautiful green batik fabric. Quilted with the same design but using black thread overall and then black metallic thread highlighting the spines.
This is another version of the burgundy and green spread cloth. This is the same except for the fabric and threads that were used. In this cloth we used this beautiful green batik on one side and violet print on the other. Quilted with black threads.

About

Live life like a quilt.

Live life like a quilt . . . Be soft when it's important; Be Warm when it's Cold; Be Proud to show your True Colors; and always Scrap together when times are Tough. (Author Unknown)

When you shop here, you shop with me, Hannelore. I'm in my 50's and where I've been using a sewing machine for one thing or another just about all my life, my current passion is quilting and on occasion some knitting and crocheting.

While in high school I made clothes for myself not because I had to but because I loved making them. Fabric, lace, ribbons, buttons, etc, these became beautiful creations. While in college I discovered heirloom sewing with even more delicate fabrics, more intricate laces and ribbons. I just loved all that stuff. As stress relief during my professional career I got into embroidery and toward the end of my career decided to start and run a professional custom embroidery company (www.hhembroidery.com) . After 15years of successfully doing that we decided to scale back and slow down with that which has allowed me time for quilting. So here I am.

When not working on a customer's order I like to work with pieces that expand my abilities or give me practice at something I've gotten rusty on. I like all forms of quilting whether traditional piecing, foundation paper piecing, applique, etc and most of all free motion quilting. You can see more pictures of pieces I've completed on my facebook page.

And on the knitting side of things, that's what I enjoy doing in the evenings. I love natural fibers. Whether with fabrics in quilting or with all those luscious yarns in various wools, cottons, linens, and silks. I knit with man made fibers as well. Today's acrylics are truly amazing. And because they are so affordable I will make items with these as well.

If you have it in your budget, you really can't go wrong with natural fibers. Whether with quilting battings or with knitted and crochetted items. For both, among other things, they breathe. You'll be cool when it's warm and warm when it's cool. And you'll never feel clammy because natural fibers absorb and give off moisture, I.e. Breathe.

Hello, and welcome to my shop. You'll find items here made and in many cases also designed by me, Hannelore. If you see something you like, wonderful; if though you don't, please let me know what you're looking for. I would love to make a custom item for you.

I have been sewing since high school, designing and creating embroidery professionally since 2001 in my business "H&H Creations of Custom Embroidery" found at www.hhembroidery.com . And I have been quilting since 2010. Since then my work has won many 1st and 2nd place ribbons at fairs and quilt shows.

The quilts, wallhangings and many other items I make bring joy and peace to my life. Of course all my creations are for sale, but also many are donated to worthy causes and organizations every year in an effort to pass on the peace and joy they've added to my life. So by shopping with me, you are also contributing to these wonderful organizations. Organizations such as H.A.N.D.D.S to the rescue (/www.facebook.com/HANDDStotheRescue );
the Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue (http://www.shibarescue.org/ );
and various local organizations as decided annually by my quilt guild, Rumpled Quilts Kin ( www.facebook.com/RumpledQuiltsKinInterlochen ).

Thank you for your interest in my shop. Hannelore

Returns and exchanges
I stand behind my items. If there's something that I know is not quite the way I'd like it to be (perfect), I will show you that before your item ships. I don't want you to be surprised when you receive your item, except that maybe it's even nicer than you expected. :-)

If I am making a custom piece for you that also must be paid in full before I begin the project. I will give you a firm price up front. I base my pricing on how much the materials for your project cost and how much time I spend on your project. I charge $10/hour for my time. I will give you a time frame for completion, and will indicate that in my postings for custom items. Most custom orders are completed within 2 weeks of an order being placed.

If I make a custom item for you, if you change your mind BEFORE I begin your project (including purchasing materials for it), I will certainly give you a full refund. However, once I've begun your project, I will finish it, and a refund will NOT be given. The only exception is that if your project is such that I can list it in my etsy shop and it sells, once sold, I will then issue you the refund.
Payment
I accept credit cards and checks and if you meet me in person, cash is good too. Everything must be paid in full before it is shipped. For items that are shipped outside the state of Michigan, there's no sales tax. And for higher priced items, I offer a Layaway Program. The terms of this program are shown below.

If you already have the fabric or wool or other material you'd like used in your project, great. I can certainly work with that. And if you would prefer to purchase the materials yourself, awesome. Choosing your own fabric for quilts or yarn for knits is a very fun and rewarding part of any project. Once we have chosen a design for you, I will be happy to let you know how much fabric or yarn you'll need. And please know that upon completion, any remaining fabric or yarn will either be returned to you, used in a charity project, or made into whatever you'd like. Your choice.

Layaway Program:
1. The program runs for a maximum of 10 months.
2. The total cost of Layaway is the price for the quilt plus Michigan Sales Tax (6%) - if applicable (if you live in MI)
3. The total cost can be divided into a maximum of 10 equal payments - or payment amounts of purchaser's choice.
4. Payments are to be delivered or mailed to Hannelore Frederick at 18215 Marilla Rd., Copemish, MI 49625. Checks made payable to Hannelore Frederick. Or paid online via credit card.
5. Final payment MUST be made by the end of the 10th month.
6. If payment in full is NOT made by the end of the 10th month, the money put into the layaway program and the item in layaway remain the property of Custom Quilts by Hannelore/Hannelore Frederick.
7. The total cost can be paid off early and the layaway item picked/shipped up as soon as full payment is made.
Shipping
Items purchased from my shop are shipped via the US Postal System. Regardless of the shipping cost you see in a listed item, once I know that actual shipping cost (once I've shipped your item) if the amount charged you is significantly more than the actual shipping cost (i.e more than a $2 difference), I will refund you the difference.

My shop is set up that all shipping is by the US Postal Service (USPS). If you would prefer to have an item shipped via UPS, contact me and we can work that out.
