Después de trabajar toda mi vida fuera del hogar, en 2014 nos sentimos llamados a convertirnos en padres adoptivos. Poco después de recibir nuestra segunda colocación, una niña de 3 años y su hermano de 6 años, dejé el mundo empresarial para quedarme en casa. Catorce hijos después, una adopción, una adición de parentesco y 5 años en el viento, ¡esta mamá está cansada! A principios de esta primavera, cuando nuestros dos niños pequeños se reunieron con su mamá, decidimos tomarnos un pequeño descanso de la crianza y envolver a nuestros 3 en casa. Por alguna razón desconocida, comencé por el camino de la artesanía y me ofrecí a ayudar a un amigo con un proyecto y me enganché. Creo que todas las cosas buenas provienen del buen Dios de arriba, incluida mi nueva pasión por crear algunos artículos únicos. Tengo mucho que aprender, pero realmente disfruto haciendo artículos de calidad que otros puedan disfrutar.
Ahora, en The Restoration House. Esto es mucho más que el nombre de mi negocio. A lo largo de nuestro tiempo de acogida, hemos experimentado muchas, muchas situaciones diferentes dentro del sistema de acogida. Hemos conocido a muchas personas diferentes, muchos estilos de vida diferentes, muchos trabajadores diferentes, y hemos sido testigos y experimentado muchos dolores de cabeza. Pero creemos que su Gracia es suficiente para TODAS estas situaciones y también creemos que Su plan es que estas familias sean restauradas, no solo reunificadas. Fuimos increíblemente bendecidos de tener la oportunidad de caminar junto a muchos de nuestros padres biológicos durante el tiempo que sus hijos estuvieron en nuestra casa. La única constante que seguíamos viendo era que no tenían ningún sistema de apoyo. No solo habían caído tan profundo que se llevaron a sus hijos, sino que no tenían a nadie que los sacara del profundo y oscuro agujero en el que estaban. y sus familias. Esta pequeña empresa permite ingresos adicionales para poder hacer esto y ayudar a otros en el mundo adoptivo adoptivo que tienen necesidades. Se necesita valor, determinación y mucha gracia para caminar por este camino, pero este es un gran lugar de necesidad en nuestra sociedad. Esto va a ser un maratón, no un sprint. Y este es mi punto de partida.........

After working my entire life outside of the home, in 2014 we felt called to become foster parents. Shortly after we received our second placement, a 3 year old girl and her 6 year old brother, I left the corporate world to stay at home. Fourteen children later, one adoption, one kinship addition and 5 years in the wind, this mama is tired! Earlier this spring when our two little boys were reunited with their mama, we decided we would take a little break from fostering and wrap around our 3 at home. For some unknown reason, I started down the crafting path and offered to help a friend with a project and I got hooked! I believe all good things come from the good Lord above, including my new found passion for creating some unique items. I have a lot to learn, but truly enjoy making quality items that others can enjoy.
Now, onto The Restoration House. This is much more than the name of my business. Throughout our time fostering, we have experienced many, many different situations within the foster system. We have met many different people, many different lifestyles, many different workers, and witnessed and experienced much heartache. But we believe that his Grace is sufficient for ALL these situations and we also believe that His plan is for these families to be restored, not just reunified. We were so incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to walk beside many of our bio parents during the time their kids were in our home. The one constant we kept seeing was they had zero support system. Not only had they fallen so deep that their kids were taken, but they had no one to pull them out of the deep, dark hole they were in. Although we are not currently fostering, we continue to walk beside several of our former foster children and their families. This small business allows additional income to be able to do this and to help others in the foster adopt world who have needs. It takes grit, determination, and a whole lotta grace to walk this path, but this is a huge place of need in our society. This is going to be a marathon, not a sprint. And this is my starting point.........
