About

RISINGgoods

Growing up in a home where thrift stores and flea markets were the norm, I learned at an early age to embrace vintage and unique things. I have been creating, designing, making and photographing for many years.

Rising is currently an outlet for me to share my jewelry and photography with you. In the future I hope to turn Rising into a lifestyle store with jewelry, art, clothing, found objects and anything else I can dream up.

Jewelry:

In 2009, I had loved the multi-finger ring trend, but wanted one with chains. When I realized that there were not any available, I experimented until I finally made one for myself. This organic process is the personal philosophy I live by and one I hope to share with those who wear my jewelry.

Following the success of my chain rings, I have developed a full collection of which I feel further encapsulate my aesthetic. This collection is focused on using chain to form unique natural shapes that compliment the wearer. I also focused on my interest in the holistic properties of stones and incorporated citrine, geodes, quartz and others into the pieces.

RISING Jewelry is a handmade line of jewelry that focuses on natural materials, sustainability and unique organic shapes. The line was recently renamed RISING and was inspired by the definitions of the world:

The newest collection, entitled “WANDERER” is a collection of jewelry inspired by the mysticism of the Southwest and disco-era 1970s. The collection formed around the materials which include snake chain, leather, quartz
and others.

Photography:

I have been in love with photography since I was very young. I shoot on both a manual film SLR and digital SLR. I focus primarily on fine art and landscapes. While the subject matter ranges drastically in my images, the thread tying my images together is a photojournalistic view combined with thought-provoking subject matter. I aim for the viewers to develop their own story and interpretation of the work, creating an open dialog.

The prints on my etsy stores do vary from my normal photography work into a new style that is very special to me. I have edited images from California, New York and other places I have visited into modern, geometric styles tht are unique and different.
