Love my gown! Worth every penny! I was rather indecisive at the beginning when it came to picking color and the designer was so patient with me - sending me several images of different fabric colors that were available. After color selection, a fabric swatch along with trim selections were sent over mail to ensure 100% satisfaction before the gown was made. A great amount of detail x care was taken with the fitting process which was effectively conducted over facetime. For the amount of handiwork x detail the gown has, i'm amazed by the relatively short production time! I was concerned with luggage space as most of it was already taken up by the wig but the gown and panniers was surprisingly compact! I had an amazing time at Fête Galantes x I have Rachel Kerby to thank for making me feel like an 18th century princess!

WOW! I can only sing the highest praises for Rachel and her absolute attention to detail. This dress she made for me is stunning beyond words. I wore it to Fetes Galantes in Versailles and felt like creme-de-la-creme royalty. Everything about it is made to perfection. And the process with her was a joy. From precise measurements instructions, personalizing details, reviewing options, to being diligent about schedule, shipping, and communicating about everything going on and photos, she was a complete joy to work with. A once in a lifetime event deserves such a professional, fun, and full-of-love for historical fashion process. Loved every second and feel grateful to have found Rachel. Do not hesitate to make your 18th century costume or wedding dress with her. I will come up with reasons to wear mine again and again. <3

About

SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A GOWN....

Do you want to look and feel FABULOUS at your upcoming wedding or costume event?

Are you looking for more than just a “costume” but a wearable piece of art? You love luxurious fabrics and trims? Exceptional craftsmanship is important to you?

If this sounds like you, you are in the right place. My desire is to create a gown that makes you feel the most beautiful you have ever felt. I'm passionate about what I do and my love of sewing and attention to detail comes across in every gown I make.

I'm Rachel Kerby, and I create finely crafted period inspired gowns for my historical loving clients, who want to stand out from the crowd and look fabulous at their wedding, masquerade ball or special occasion.

From designing gowns for specific events, to using personal measurements for a great fit, to applying couture and historical sewing techniques, I have been able to create gowns for clients all over the world.

Sewing is not just my job it is my passion. It is very much an extension of who I am. I have been providing professional high end sewing for over 20 years in a number of different industries including fashion, interior design, bridal and costume. After winning 1st prize in Your Wardrobe Unlock'd costume competition in 2013 with my 18th Century Marie Antoinette gown, I decided to pursue my dream of making period inspired gowns as a business and Rachel Kerby Couture was born.

Just imagine....it is the day of your event and your vibrating with excited anticipation. As you are getting ready you carefully place the lovely decorated petticoat over your perfectly coifed pompadour hair and then over those oh so perky panniers. You giggle with glee as you see your silhouette transforming right before your eyes. You marvel at how the panniers create the illusion of a smaller waistline. You slip your arms into the robe a la francaise gown admiring the delicate lace ruffle at the elbow. Your finger tips lightly caress the exquisite detail on the stomacher before you hook it to the gown. The luxurious silk fabric rustles as you arrange the pleating over those wonderfully wide panniers and you are in awe of the exquisitely handcrafted detail down the front of the skirt. You catch your breath as you look at the reflection in the mirror. YOU HAVE NEVER LOOKED SO BEAUTIFUL! But there is something else.....you suddenly feel much more confident and empowered. You stand a little taller and with happy tears glistening in your eyes you head out for one of the best times of your life!

This is my wish for you! I would love to know more about you and the dream gown you desire. Contact me today to start the custom gown process.
