I LOVE THIS!!! I only use it to hold part of my hair back because I have a lot of very thick hair. It's so beautiful and I've already received so many compliments on it that ts paid for itself I feel like. When I first held it in my hands I was worried that it seemed so fragile that I'd break it but this little beauty has really held up on me. Money well spent. :)

I love this piece! It's super sturdy and so unique. I also love the versatility of this hair pin; it's easy to dress up for work or add some personality on a casual day off, and I can imagine throwing it on a knit shawl as a pin as well.

This is the cheapest thing I've ever bought for $95. Worst quality. It was scuffed up and bent as soon as I tried to put it in my hair. Not well made at all.

About

Hi!

My shop started off slow and steady way back in 2007, when I was making duct tape purses in college. It started in high school, and I thought I was the coolest cat around. It was before the duct tape craze though, so I like to think of myself of some kind of pioneer. So anyway. That's why my shop was originally called Lucky Duct! Then somewhere in there I started making Bullet Buddies (which may still come back), that were little characters I carved and hammered and drilled into empty bullet shells. Around 2009 I really started in on the jewelry, kicked the duct tape accessories to the curb, and I've been making jewelry ever since!

Hi! My name is Rachel, and I make all of the jewelry in my studio/living room. I started making jewelry about a year after I graduated from Brandeis University. My dad is a jeweler, and so are my two uncles and two cousins! It was hard to avoid.

Production partners

  • a small casting company

    NY, United States

For some of my items, I use a casting company in New York City to create castings of my original products. They make mold and cast the items using lost was casting for me. They are lovely and friendly people who care about the work they do.
