The Story behind RadaRader Designs
RadaRader Designs is a collaboration of ideas, personality, and techniques between Heidi Radabaugh and Laura Hergenrader, thus RadaRader Designs.
I’ve been making beads and jewelry for nearly 30 years and Heidi has always been available as my ‘design sounding board’. She has been there when I run into a creative brick wall; when something I have in mind is just not materializing the way I pictured it. We have collaborated on designs for many years but she always insisted that the finished product was my design. I’m afraid I have to disagree. There were many pieces I would have thrown away if it hadn’t been for, ‘why don’t you try this or do that’ comment from Heidi.
The two of us have been going to the Tucson Gem and Mineral show every February for the past 9 years. I would go exploring and shopping and Heidi would relax by the pool and read. Usually, a couple days out of the week, Heidi would humor me and tag along on the shopping extravaganza. However, these past couple of years, she has caught the bug, not only does she go shopping with me but she insists on going to particular venues and picking up specific items to work with.
RadaRader Designs was born.
If we had to divide up the items or designs on our site into Heidi’s or mine, the division would most likely fall along the men’s and women’s chokers/necklaces and the anklets having been designed by Heidi, with the finishing touches completed by me, and the stones (pendants & cabochons), pendant necklaces, and ear rings, most likely designed by me with creative input by Heidi. As you can tell neither one of us can keep our opinions to ourselves.
We both have jobs outside of our jewelry making; but when we can escape the 8 to 5 rat race; we settle into one of our two designated studios, the garage or the back office, or spread trays out across the living room and play with colors, shapes, and textures to see what emerges.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, we hope that you will enjoy looking at the designs we have to offer.

We love to work with anything that catches our eyes so we tend to work with many elements while creating distinctive jewelry; sterling silver, fine silver, copper, stainless steel, precious and semi precious stones, Lampwork beads, sea glass, shells, and more.
We truly enjoy the process of cutting, shaping, and polishing stones, seeing what shape the particular piece of stone naturally falls into. We like unusual shapes and tend to create one of a kind unique cabochons, pendants, and beads. Most of our items are one of a kind, and all are in limited quantity. In addition to working with stones, we create Lampwork beads in our studio so that we can customize colors and hole diameters to better work with our jewelry.
We use many of our own stones in our jewelry and we tend to make jewelry that is simple in style and somewhat rustic. Many of our pieces can be worn by both men and women.
We will be adding new items all the time, so please be sure to check back often.
Thank you for stopping by our shop. We are happy to answer any of your questions, so please feel free to contact us.
