About

I love fashion, art and design, it inspires everything I do.

Hi there, I'm Summer, I run this little shop.

About my Art...
I use two words to describe my art and process... Creative Chaos! I never know what the piece is going to look like going in. Sometimes I have an idea and then the painting is totally not the vision I had at all... but usually it's better! I have been creating art ever since I can remember, my parents always highly encouraged it. I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a BFA in Design. Many years ago, I sold several abstract works. My work has been collected throughout , New York, California, Crete, Spain (to name a few) and have even showed in a local IAO Art Gallery Exhibit.

I decided 2017 would be the year to relaunch my art career and pick up the palette again.

My art is deeply rooted in my country livin lifestyle. I have a love for abstract florals, lots of texture, drips, swirls and slashes. It stems from my love of old vintage floral walls in farmhouses, exteriors and gates covered in climbing roses and wild flower gardens filled with Indian Paint Brushes, sunflowers and Poppies. They make me think of my child hood and taking walks with my grandmother picking blackberries and smelling the wild growing roses on the fence of this particularly old abandoned farmhouse on her old dirt road that led to her home.

I mostly paint with a credit card and palette knife... rarely do I use a brush. I love the rawness the knife creates... but because of this, I have a love/hate relationship with the process that entails the creation of a piece of art. But it is that relationship that allows me to grow, push and succeed as an artist. I try to create something each day, whether it's a full blown painting, a watercolor or just a sketch. I feel like this helps keep the creativity flowing and helps me to push past my safety zones.

A little bit about me...
I am married to an Active Duty Army Soldier, I also work part time for the Army as a civilian contractor. Luckily enough, we don't move around. Oklahoma is our permanent home, we bought a farmhouse is 2012 and have slowly have been turning it into our dream home. I run a blog called 'Raising a Farmhouse'. It focuses mainly on DIY and Home Renovations and living life in the country. I Have a vintage camper that I am turning into a boutique on wheels. I am also in the process of renovating a shop for a brick and mortar boutique. We recently renovated a 2007 31ft camper to be a travel home for my husband while he is a way for an Army training. I might possibly be crazy for all the things I have going on... but if you would like to join in on the craziness, then Be sure to follow me on Instagram @raisingafarmhouse, facebook and my blog to keep posted on all my projects.

Art is obviously subjective and what speaks to one may not resonate with another. I know you have many choices when it comes to art, but I honestly thank you for your love and support.

xoxo,

Summer

***NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS- ALL SALES ARE FINAL.***

Please read policies regarding shipping. Please be sure of purchase before you buy.

***Great care is taken creating and shipping items.

However If an item arrives broken, which it should not, file a claim with the mail carrier. If this is a concern the buyer may purchase separate insurance prior to ship. Buyer is responsible for this request and payment. Shop owner is not held responsible for damages to an item once it ships.
Payment
Painting will ship as soon as payment has been received.

No Returns or Refunds. Sorry, please be sure of your purchase and feel free to ask any questions.

Custom Orders:
The whole point of being creative is to express my own creative visions. I will take requests such as certain colors or sizes of canvas and inspiration pictures. But please know, I will not copy anyone's work or style. Most likely the painting will turn out completely different and even better than envisioned. Abstract work is a process and takes on a mind of it's own. If you are very picky or non flexible, this process will not work for you. However if you are willing to have an original piece of art created for you, then this is the process: Once the piece has been created, I will send you a pic for final review and be willing to make small changes up to three times, however if it is not to your liking you are not liable to purchase, if after the third time you are still not "satisfied" we will part ways as friends and you will need to select another artist. For smaller paintings no deposit is required however, for paintings larger than 30x40, I require a 25% deposit that is non refundable.

Cancelations on Custom Orders:
Please note if paid in advance and you cancel, you will be refunded in full less a 25% restocking fee for time and money spent on the painting.
Shipping
I ship to the address on your invoice. Please double check your shipping address and confirm it is correct. I am not responsible for misaddressed parcels or lost packages.

I use USPS Priority Flat Rate Shipping for smaller items. If you require another shipping vendor, i.e.: FedEx, UPS, DHL or any other service please make this known and I will oblige. I will follow up with the client with any additional costs.

-Furniture- I ship furniture either by freight or GreyHound package Express depending on size. Please read the listing to confirm. I will have to arrange shipping for freight items. I will email and let you know when I have found a shipper. If buyer is local, I will arrange for local pickup. Shipping is included in the price of the furniture. Great care will be taken to package and secure your items.

I do ship overseas, gladly and happily. Due to size restrictions with USPS, larger items will not calculate properly on ETSY. So if you are overseas, please notify me and I will get you an estimate with Fedex to ship a larger painting.
But, please know, I cannot be held responsible for items held over in customs or any fees or duty fees associated with overseas shipping. This is out of my hands. I cannot track items either. Once the package leaves the U.S my ability to track ends. I can only hope along with you, that it arrives quickly. I will not give a refund for damaged parcels nor will I reimburse duty/tax or VAT fees. This is up to the buyer.

***SELLER WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING DELAYS. ONCE THE PACKAGE LEAVES MY HANDS I AM NOT LIABLE FOR DELAYS OR DAMAGES. IF THIS IS OF CONCERN PLEASE CONTACT ME THRU ETSY, NOT DIRECT EMAIL, FOR A QUOTE ON ADDITIONAL INSURANCE if shipping through postal service/fedex/ups.
