It was readymade?
I started Ramz Doodles properly in my third year of my Graphic Design course in university, around 2012. The brand of Ramz Doodles was initially made during my first year, but as I struggled to pay for food and traveling back home, I needed to find quick solutions to earn. I made my first sale of a large Star Wars poster out of complete random to an incredibly nice friend, who suggested I also set up shop with Etsy and sell these designs I had laying about.
It hasn't been a strong focal point of mine, but I had always been wanting to get involved doing something worthy in drawing things. Designs at time for me feel limited in skill, but if I am able to make the simplest of design look great to the creative eye it's truly a great feeling knowing somebody is appreciating the work done. The work overall suits my personality, which hopefully people can see in some aspect, and to make someone happy through your own work can only bring true happiness within self.
Deciding to open shop on my birthday in 2012, at first I wasn't too sure that the designs would even be an accepted thing among buyers, but within minutes of opening on Etsy I made my first sale online. Soon enough, designs I added became a regular attraction, creating designs especially at the right time of their popularity and attracting fans like me showing appreciation and kindness to what was made.
As I now balance this with a full time job, every month I dedicate half the earnings made through this shop towards a charity of choice; Penny Appeal. Considering I am not in a struggle of needing food or going home from University (although the work to home/home to work travel is a pain), it is only fair that I give back to those that are more in need, and so this is the promise of Ramz Doodles: buy a print design, know that you are a massive help towards helping a good cause.
Admittedly I will get on the occasional slack mode, but even if I sell 1 or 3 prints/designs it truly feels great to know someone is finding appreciation to my work, where that same appreciation had been missing a fairly long time.
In due time, through inspiration/motivation/self appreciation/demand, I hope this shop can continue to grow and be something that shocks me always.
