Announcement   Like crystals and herbs, every tree possesses its own unique energetic or spiritual qualities. Trees are revered in cultures throughout history. For some they are the mother, for others the father. Still more see trees as the bridge between heaven and earth or the gateway to wisdom. Most of us cannot simple travel to the far reaches of the Australian Outback, Central American tropical forests, or the rain forests of Africa to partake in the energy found in the presence of great trees. We must bring the trees and their spirit to us in the woods they provide.

Here you will find a variety of hand-crafted tools and accessories to broaden your spiritual horizons.

About

Why I do it . . .

Please be aware that Rare Earth Designs is out of town Feb 14th - 20th. Any orders scheduled to ship during that time will be delayed until our return. If you are in California, we will be vending at Pantheacon in San Jose that weekend - come visit in person!

Years ago several friends convinced me to share my skills beyond the circle of our friendship - here it is! I was a stone mason/designer by trade - woodworker and metaphysical student/practitioner in every day life. I work with the earth every day on a physical and spiritual level, crafting a balance between nature and man. I have spent over 35 years working with wood from building furniture with my father and custom homes to what you see before you.

I have gathered my beliefs and ideologies from a worldwide variety of sources. I have studied the teachings of all major religions from Gnostic Christianity and Islam to Buddhism and Hinduism. I draw primarily upon Druidic, Wiccan, Reiki and Shamanistic traditions in my daily spiritual life. In addition to my obvious passion for trees, I find solace in the energy of crystals and the guidance of the tarot, astrology and runes.

RARE EARTH IS OUT OF STATE VENDING AT THE NINEFOLD FESTIVAL IN COLORADO SEPT 25TH - OCT 4TH. SOME ORDERS PLACED OR SCHEDULED FOR DELIVERY DURING THAT TIME MAY BE DELAYED UNTIL OUR RETURN - THANK YOU

Every land has tales of trees that are sacred to their culture. Like crystals and herbs, every tree possesses its own unique energy or healing qualities. Friends have trusted me to hand-craft their wands and other implements for years because of nearly a lifetime of woodworking skill and decades as a metaphysical practitioner.

Returns and exchange details
I will refund the purchase price of an item returned within 14 days of shipping – no questions asked. I will replace any insured item damaged or lost in transit to the best of my ability; however, with each piece being individually created (sometimes under unique conditions) replacement may not be an option.
Payment
Paypal is preferred. Payment is expected within three (3) days of purchase, but if you need a little more time or want to combine shipping with another piece, just let me know. I'll hold onto your item for as long as you need - no problem as long as you communicate. I file unpaid item claims after 7 days without payment or communication, and relist the item after 14 days. Things happen, let me know - I'm really very patient and understanding.
Shipping
Shipping costs cover the postage and cost of shipping materials. I usually ship the next business day once payment clears using high strength cardboard mailing tubes to guarantee safe arrival. My backwoods post office does not have Saturday desk hours, so unless I "go into town" packages go out Monday - Friday. USPS shipping times are in business days and can be unpredictable and sometimes frustrating. Express shipping is available upon request and at additional cost. I prefer USPS Express Mail or Priority Mail for International shipping, I have found it to be the safest and most dependable for the price. 1st Class is available for international shipping upon request.
Additional policies and FAQs
Wood Care -
I wax and buff every wand for several reasons: First, to bring out the natural beauty of the grain, but more importantly, to protect the wood. The natural oils in our skin may change the color of the wood over time as well as allowing dirt to penetrate the pores. Additionally, dramatic changes in temperature or humidity can create splitting or warping in such slender pieces of wood. I use a natural wax and oil in my shop to protect both newly created pieces and my own personal collection.
