I have been looking for an easy way to keep my hair up, but also add a bit of panache and this does it!!
Creating Handcrafted Beauty to Adorn Your Hair
I spend my time at my work bench or in Nature as much as possible, not on the computer. I look for inspiration in the moon, stars and trees that surround my home. I do not search on line like others but am inspired by old hair jewelry and art, as well as the stories I grew up reading.
While others say things about other artists, I do not.
You do not know where or when inspiration comes and I chose to believe the best in all.

I started creating at a very young age. My first hair jewelry was just that, jewelry that I made work for my hair, so that I could feel like a fairy-tale heroine.
According to my mom, I have been creating my own style of fashion since I was little, with a strong sense of design and beauty.
I fell in love with metal work as a preteen and began forging metal as soon as I could wield a hammer. And from there I just worked hard on growing as an artist.
I had the good fortune to spend a great deal time in many great museums at an impressionable age, which has helped to define my sense of aesthetics and love of beauty with function.
That is what I strive to share with my hair adornments, function and beauty. Just as the artists of the Arts and Crafts movement wanted all design to have beauty as well as function, to bring joy to it's user.
I strive for each item to show the time and care that I put into each one, so that they will last and last, while continuing to bring joy.

Owner, Designer, Creator
I am a Native American, Viking, and Irish artist. An offspring of generations with traditions of creating beauty, who dared to launch into the unknown, to create the life they longed to live. I create because I must, it is part of my DNA.
Each one of my creations are a culmination of countless hours, both in the creating of each item as well as the finding of each part and piece that make up each individual hair ornament. Each and everyone receive my individual attention to detail in both the creation and then the presentation of each beauty to you, my wonderful customers. I want to make sure that each and every customer is happy with their creation. I believe that if something is worth doing it is worth doing well.
I believe with my whole heart in the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Meaning, I believe, when I treat people well, I will be treated well. I know I work hard to create a good experience for each of you. I endeavor to give the absolute best customer service.
If something comes up, I try to let you know at each step, what is going on with your order, from when the payment is received, to when your item is shipped.
If you ever have any questions for me, or maybe some suggestions, as to how I can make your Etsy experience better, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I want this to be an enjoyable experience for all of us.
If you choose a made for you item please allow 2 to 3 weeks for its creation. Thank you.
My shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/RavensLair is a treasure trove of unique items.
Most are created by hand in my workshop, from vintage as well as new materials. I use as much recycled items as possible to create a greener world.
I am also starting to include a few special vintage beauties as well. Please feel free to enjoy them.
I design and create with many different metals such as aircraft grade aluminum, steel, brass as well the unusual such as titanium. Each metal has it's unique traits and idiosyncrasies allowing for a wide variety in styles and functions of the items. I also make magical beaded creations that I call shelots, that are worn over a bun to create a wonderfully decorative style all your own.
I fashion both single stick as well as double stick sets. I especially enjoy creating hair swords and hair forks of both round and flat material. I hand shape and manufacture each one, one at a time allowing each one to be unique and different. They are the result of hours of individual focus and attention and each have been created with love.
I hope that you enjoy my treasures as much as I enjoy creating them. Each detail from the story behind the piece, it's inception to completion is the result of hours of focused attention and time, just for your pleasure.
Blessings on you and yours,

Do you ship internationally?
Yes! I am happy to offer International shipping via First Class Postal. I am willing to ship by other methods, but they are expensive.
However, if you require upgraded shipping, please feel contact me first before buying an item. I am willing to change a listing reflecting the additional postage for an International Priority Item. As long as you are willing to pay the additional postage, I am more than willing to ship it anyway you chose.
If you or your country have any specific instructions for the customs forms please let me know. Sometimes I know that different codes as well as phone numbers will help to to expedite things and will help to make shipping as easy as possible.
Packaging and mailing
I ship with the idea of protecting the item as best as possible. So each item will be wrapped based on it's individual needs. I do not use newspaper to mail things in, as I am concerned that the inks might affect some of my wonderful customers. Instead I use bubble wrap and tissue paper.
My shipping costs include postage, handling and packaging.
Due to the increase in gasoline prices, I will only be shipping 2 days a week. On Tuesdays and Fridays. This means that I will ship your item on my next shipping date after your purchase., unless there are necessary alterations to the item. Then it will be shipped as soon as possible and you will receive notification.
This is my effort toward being more green. I have a 40 mile round trip to the post office so I try to be wise with my resources.
Refunds and Exchanges
Unless there is verification that there was an error in the listing (such as the wrong dimensions were portrayed in the listing) I do not accept refunds or exchanges. Please pay attention to the photos as they are your best guide as to color and materials of an item.
All sales are final.
I take all possible care to make sure my photos are as color-accurate as possible. However variations do occur in monitors and may make colors slightly different on your screen than mine. I also try to give accurate measurements in the listings along with the colors, so there are no surprises.
If you have any questions as to which of the photographs are most true in color, just ask!
I am not responsible for lost packages, as once the package leaves my hands I cannot control what happens to it.
If your package is lost let me know and I will file an insurance claim on it if you paid for insurance.
However, First Class International packages are NOT insured and may take up to 3 months to arrive, if they are hindered by Customs. This is not usually the case, but it can happen.
