Announcement   Welcome to RavensNezt!

Please take note ....craft handmade items which are inspired by and designed to reflect Ancient Peoples art and to honor tribal histories/art styles. I am not a Native American, and I do not claim to have any tribal affiliation. All items I design and create are NOT "Native Made."

Living in the Pacific Northwest has given me the opportunity to learn more about the tribes inhabiting the Northwest coast where Haida and Tlingit art is the most prevalent form. The "Raven" is the strongest of the totems here. It is why I chose it to be my "logo". I research many other clan/tribal histories and art ( including some ancient civilizations throughout the world, the US and Canada) prior to making my designs to honor their unique history and forms.

My grandmother told me as a child that somewhere along the line, we have "French Canadian Indian" in our heritage. The best I can trace it to is an Algonquin connection in the 1600's, and more than likely Ojibwe. Sadly, I cannot document it. Although not "Native Made", all my designs are extensively researched and given the respect due to each and every tribe/clan represented that inspires me.

I will often use design props or backgrounds to help display my items. These props are not for sale with the items. Shipping is only "standard" (First Class) via USPS. Due to the natural variation of certain beads and products used, plus the differences in monitor settings, colors may vary slightly from what is pictured or listed.

Thank you so much for dropping by. If you purchase an item, I sincerely hope that you will wear it in a manner which honors the tribe or clan of indigenous or native cultures it represents. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did making it.

About

A Pacific Northwest Enterprise

Living in the Pacific Northwest is a challenge due to weather and the mountainous region, but it is the most magnificent area in which to live because of its sheer beauty and its diverse cultures.

What I find the most interesting of all ....is our Northwest Native American culture. Much of my work is inspired by native cultures and other indigenous cultures from around the world. My grandmother once told me of a Native American link in my family heritage....as best as I can determine it is most likely Algonquin, and perhaps Ojibwa. Although I cannot lay claim to being a tribal member, I strive to produce artwork that honors all indigenous tribes. None of my work is "Native Made". My work is definitely inspired by all Indigenous Peoples

Art has always been my passion, so for me this new venture just expanded my interest and research into oor Indigenous cultures. I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I do making them. Please feel free to ask questions and I sincerely hope you return often to see new items as I publish them.

Best,
Judy

Thank you for shopping RavensNezt.

My shop reflects the art and spirit of all ancient and presently existing indigenous peoples of the world. I in no means try to copy any previous works, but rather to express my own interpretation of the spirit of the Peoples in their own time. Although my heritage possibly includes a French Canadian lineage, I am unable to document it. I am not Native American, nor do I claim any tribal affiliations.

It is with my sincerest thanks to you for perusing my shop. I hope you are as inspired by the listings as much as I was in making them.
