I have always had a passion for creating, and expressing myself. From a young age, I was always shy towards new people. I always felt as though there was so much I could offer, yet nobody would understand. There was always a yearning to create poetry, and I loved to read and write.
In time, I found that I was able to channel my creative energies through outlets such as writing, poetry, and artwork. There was also a habit of being a perfectionist, involved in the way I dressed, and in my writing and artwork. My mom would always support my on my endeavors, even though I might have asked for too many articles of clothing, shoes, and books. We started going thrift shopping in my teen years (to keep up with my perfectionist matching tendencies) and I found a love of vintage clothing and jewelry. Around this time, I also received a few pieces of sterling and turquoise jewelry from my great grandma. (This is when my turquoise obsession started. I love putting outfits together from vintage finds, and have a knack for picking out the most expensive items. (sorry mom)
Throughout my high school years, I took several art classes, and this evolved throughout college as well. I figured I would become some sort of art major, but that turned into a business degree somehow. Once out of college, equipped with all this knowledge of art and business, I still felt that I lacked creativity. I knew how to draw, and what to draw, but I wanted to release this passion held inside.
In 2015 I had what I would call, "an awakening," and started a journey of learning about my true self, and had a yearning to search the depths of my soul. I wanted to know who I really was and what I was put here for. I started reading books about spirituality, self-help books, various religious books, etc. This is when I learned about mandalas, and decided to attempt my first one. After that, I was hooked, I had finally found a way to express my true inner nature, on paper, and canvas. I hope to expand my mandala art to natural forms such as wood, and recycled products as well.
As for my writing talents, I started a blog called, "Rays Up- the journey." Through all of my reading the past few years, and all of my own inner work, I was able to finally put into words, what I felt like would help others. The meaning of "Rays Up" is to rise to be the best you, you can possibly be, strive to help others reach their full potential, and to help raise the collective vibration of the planet, to one of love, and peace.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey, you are awesome!
