Thanks for visiting ReClassified Treasure, home of one of a kind artisan jewelry and accessories.
I specialize in creating artisan items upcycled from copper, brass, and other ordinary materials.

Bits of electrical wire, light fixtures, copper pipe and many other pieces of hardware take on new life as pieces in this store. While some of the items are embellished with purchased beads and findings, all featured metal components are upcycled and hand formed by the shop's designer and maker.

Some are conversation pieces, some more artistic. All are durable, wearable and are designed to bring out the beauty of the natural and aged materials.

I hope you will enjoy wearing these repurposed treasures as much as I have enjoyed creating them. I'm adding new designs all the time...so stop in often!

This seller is absolutely amazing. The postal service lost the first package. Cindy was right on top of things and made me a whole new pair of earrings and I received them in less than a week. The earrings are just beautiful and very well made. Definitely will do business with this shop again.

Alternatively, you could try cutting the clasps off and making a sliding knotted cord as shown in this video. https://youtube.com/watch?v=dnurFwWbJMA If the knots are tight enough, perhaps it would maintain size. Sorry I didn't think of this sooner. cindy

Upcycled metal jewelry and accessories

The first step of many of my creations is annealing. I heat the copper to red hot so it can be more easily cut/hammered.
Some of my designs use flatware embossed into the annealed copper. Belle Armoire fall edition 2022 contains more detail.
Used pipe is a staple of my inventory. It's fun to think of what service this pipe provided in a former "life".
A piece of old railroad rail is my favorite anvil. Occasionally I need to resurface it but it's served me well for years

Trash to unique handcrafted treasures

The inspiration for this store came from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Davenport, IA, where I worked for over 20 years. One of our many amusements was to make jewelry from pieces of hardware. For me, that might have gotten a bit out of hand!

Since college and my early years as a mechanical engineer, I have been fascinated by metals and metal working. Recognizing the beauty of the aged copper, pieces from brass light fixtures and various shapes of aluminum, I became excited about the possibilities of giving these lovely metals a second life as jewelry and other accessories.

Visits to Pinterest, Etsy, and the local library fueled this enthusiasm, which has joined knitting and spinning as one of my obsessions.

Now retired from the Habitat ReStore, I have more time to devote to jewelry making and somehow, less time for making dinner. My husband of 46 years has graciously shared his shop with me. Surrounded by a torch, anvils, a growing collection of tools and a lot of scrap metal, I feel like I'm "living the dream".

Thank you for visiting my shop. I hope you will appreciate not only the new articles these pieces have become but their (sometimes very humble) origins!
