Your story in one sentence.
I began crafting about 20 years ago when my oldest son needed a way to keep up with his household duties. My son really liked his “Chore Board” and it took off with other moms and friends. I set up a small booth in a local craft store and successfully sold the boards along with other crafts. From there my small crafts turned into patterned designs that evolved into custom Christmas crafts. I was happy participating in only 2 or 3 Christmas shows a year since crafting was just a “hobby.”
Then in 2006 my husband and I bought a new house. The previous owner left a couple of pieces of nice albeit out-dated furniture behind. With my husband’s support, I explored the idea of “reinventing” furniture and my true passion was born.
Today ReInventingTheWheel is a full time endeavor. I scour thrift stores, yard sales and the classifieds for any unhappy piece of furniture I can find. I prefer vintage pieces that need love and personality. I’ve taken items that had one purpose and reinvented them into something else. But mostly I take furniture that with a little love and care can have a new lease on life instead of ending up in someone’s burn pile.
