We here at Recycled Rays aren't particularly interesting. But if you must know there are 3 of us here, dilligently crafting bottle lights morning, noon and night. We've been honored to be featured on Treehugger.com, and the now defunct blog JustWhatIWanted.
The narrative voice on this site and most of our marketing is Mike. He also does the lion's share of the crafting, and had the brilliant (ahem, pun) idea for these lights. He is helped by his wife, and their somewhat trustworthy and mostly loyal cat, Custard.
We've been making these lights since September of 2004. Every light we make is carefully crafted with quality parts, clean bottles and high-grade wood. It takes an embarrassingly long time to complete one of these lights, but we enjoy doing it and hope you enjoy looking at it in your own home!

Prior to shipping, your order will be carefully inspected for accuracy and checked throughly for defects. We will only ship defect-free items. Although extremely rare, if for some reason the item you order has incurred damage while in our storage, we will both notify you within 1 business day, and refund the amount you paid for that item. Your order will be carefully packaged before shipment to withstand the worst that we can imagine the shipper will throw at it. And based on some of the shipments we've recieved, we know the worst can be pretty bad. We haven't lost a bottle light from shipping damage yet, and we're proud of that.
If, despite our herculean efforts, your light arrives broken or defective, contact us no later than 2 weeks from that day you receive your order so that we can begin an investigation and determine how best to remedy the situation. We want you to be happy with your purchases from us, and will strive to give you the best service possible.

We are happy to accept PayPal and credit card payments. Sadly, we are unable to ship until payment has been confirmed. Once payment is confirmed, your order will ship promptly within 2 business days (usually just one day). We'd love to send these lights out to everyone on the basis of trust, but the world hasn't completely caught up with our utopian dreams yet. When it does, we'll eliminate the pre-payment policy forthwith!
You may cancel your order at any time until it ships. We'll refund the purchase price to you as quickly as Etsy allows, usually the next business day. If you change your mind AFTER your order ships, please have a look at our return policy.

To ensure high quality service, we will only ship to addresses within the United States. At checkout, you may be given several shipping options. United Parcel Service and U.S. Postal Service will be available in most areas. The charges quoted at checkout are firm, you will not incur any extra 'handling' charges.

We will make every effort to get your item out the door in less than 2 business days (excluding holidays). We will notify you immediately if there will be a delay in shipping your order.

You will receive an email from us as soon as your item is shipped which will include a tracking number if the shipper offers such a service. Additionally, you may also receive an email from the shipper themselves.

We also sell items offline periodically and during those times the items available offline will be removed from the online catalog, or in the case of a major offline event, shopping cart will be disabled for the duration of the show. If for some reason despite these measures an order is placed for an unavailable item, we will let you know via email and we will then ship the rest of your order. You will be given a choice to receive the item later if it is not one-of-a-kind (with free shipping), or to cancel that item and receive a full refund for any amount paid on that item.
