About

Totally relevant vintage

I inherited my love of all needlecrafts from my Spanish grandmother. She yearned to attend art school but was prohibited by her parents. Meanwhile, her brother went and became a successful artist, befriending Picasso and Dali. So my Abuelita channelled her artistic desires into embroidery, knitting and sewing, supplying my sisters and I with matching outfits for much of our childhood.

Starting at about age 10 I started embroidering, knitting and sewing. A degree in Apparel Design followed and then a career as a Technical Designer. Commuting between Philadelphia and New York became more of a challenge after 2 kids so I decided to find an avenue closer to my Bucks County PA home.

Along the way, I developed a respect for vintage and have been wearing it for over 20 years. With my background, I appreciated the quality and construction of those garments. And after dressing alike with my 2 sisters until I was 12, I developed a need for individuality which vintage delivered.

Now I combine the best of all my worlds and deal in vintage as well as my own line of hand knit and crochet wire jewelry. I carry both at my brick and mortar store Duo in Lambertville NJ. See my jewelry here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SusanaBernardini

I am a former Technical Designer in the fashion field and did the corporate thing. Since I was a girl I have been knitting, sewing and exploring a multitude of other crafts. Now I get to combine the best of all my worlds here.

Shop policies

Last updated on April 18, 2011
I love to find treasures everywhere I go and finally realized I can share them with others. Okay, this might be my justification for buying more but it works for me!

Some of my items I have owned for years, whether displayed in my home or held in garage purgatory for the day I just might find a place for it.

So it was so liberating to realize that I can combine shopping with selling, what a concept! I carefully hunt for items that are affordable, fun and most of all, usable.

Most of my items have some history and it will show - this only adds to the interest as far as I'm concerned. In each listing I will detail as much as I can in order for you to make the best purchase possible.

I make the best effort to provide all the information about my pieces as possible, but do not purport to be an expert on vintage and antiques. But I acquire most of my pieces for their aesthetic beauty or function and not because it is a highly valued antique or collectible. Sometimes I will get one of those and will list it accordingly with all the information I have available.

Shipping
My shipping is either US first class mail, Parcel post or Priority mail and I carefully calculate to achieve the most cost effective price. I pick the price at the middle of the zones - usually 5 in Parcel Post to get an average. So sometimes it is a few dollars more, sometimes a few less but averages out so I don't make any money on shipping.

I am happy to combine shipping - convo me to discuss. Even though I have a shipping for if you buy another item, it might actually be able to be adjusted even less and I will refund you on Paypal. For example, I have a heavy 4 1/2 lb vase that I've listed for $10 shipping and $8 with another item. Now, if you bought something light like a small plate it would be the $8. But if you bought it with the clock that weighs 7 1/2 lbs and costs $12 to ship, the combined weight of the both would give you a total more like $15.
So buy more and get a break on the shipping!
Refunds and Exchanges
I will accept refunds within 7 days, the buyer pays for the shipping back to me. Please convo me beforehand and state clearly why, maybe I can clarify something. Either way, I want satisfied customers and will take everything back as long as it comes back in the same condition as when it left me. If it is a damage in transit, I will file a claim with the carrier.
