Bringing the silver screen, the small screen, and the radio to your fingernails...
I have always loved nail polish. And the older I get, the more I tend to prefer funky and bright colors.
My own collection of polishes has grown more than I want to admit so I'll plead the 5th for now. But no matter how many polishes I bought, I always thought "I wish I could find this kind of polish or that kind of polish".
So, it seemed natural to me that I would start making my own polishes. It's a labor intensive job and at times, I want to take all of my glitter outside and have a glittering bonfire. But for the most part, I LOVE to take an idea from my head and make it appear as polish in an empty bottle.
Having "themed" polishes is a pain at times. Especially if you are making a polish based off of a well known character or movie. There is so much pressure to "get it right".
But the upside to that? It's MY interpretation so if I love it, I sell it.
I believe customer service is the most important part of selling here on Etsy. I try to contact each and every person who places and order and thank them for their business. And if a problem should arise? I will bend over backwards and hit a few cartwheels to fix it.
I haven't been doing this long but in the time that I have been making polishes, I have been able to connect with other indie makers that I truly respect and admire. And some of my customers have already shown themselves to be loyal and encouraging.
I love what I do. And I hope you love what I create.

My love for television, movies, and music collided with my love for polish. All of my creations come about after re-watching a favorite movie or hearing a song that I haven't heard in years, or watching "my shows".

I am a father of 2 daughters full time, a real estate agent by day, and in between, I love to renovate houses. Watching my wife create her polishes is exciting and I am always interested to see what she will come up next.
I get my inspiration (names and colors) for my polishes from my favorite movies, television shows, and music. In most cases, a certain character will be the spring board to the creation. Actors and musicians all walk the red carpet at some point in their careers, hence the name of the shop/polish. If you are a fan of the show/movie/band, you will probably get the joke and possibly giggle at the names.
~ My polishes are made in batches. Some batches may vary slightly.
~ For the polishes, I only use lacquers that are 3 free. And I use cosmetic grade pigments to tint my polishes. Most of the glitter that I use is cosmetic grade, although occasionally craft and auto glitter/flakes may be used. All products are safe and I use them on my own hands. Not all glitters/flakes are created equally and some out there may fade in lacquer over time. I have done research and purchase only glitter/flakes that I know to be solvent resistant. I also test any glitter that I bring into my home to use in the polishes.
~ The longer a bottle sits without use, the glitter, flakes, and/or pigment can settle to the bottom. Give a good shake, shake, shake and it should be just fine. It also helps to invert the bottle and leaving it upside down for a few minutes before using.
~ If needed, polish thinner can be used in the bottles. It will not harm the glitter.
~ When layering the polishes over a base coat, seal the base coat before using the glitter. And when I use these polishes, I always use a coat or 2 of Gelous or Glitter Tamer to smooth out the glitter and then apply Seche Vite after the Gelous or Tamer dries.
~ And as with any polish, give it time to dry. And always remember, 3 thin coats will dry better and faster than 2 thick coats.
