Welcome to Red Nebula Cosplay, a subsection of Red Nebula Studios, a small business run by myself and my husband. This store specializes in unique homemade masks and props for your costuming needs! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, or check out the work I do over on my Facebook page or on my website.

You may also know me from our other Etsy store, RedNebulaStudios. I decided it'd be best to separate out all of the costuming supplies from the primarily fantasy-based work over in the other store. If you love dragons, beautiful original artwork, and more, you might want to check out the other stores!

About

Bored of being human? We can help.

Hi, Sarrah here! Welcome to the costuming side of Red Nebula Studios, a small business run by myself and my husband since 2009. While our other shops specialize in fantasy arts and crafts ( https://rednebulastudios.etsy.com and https://rednebuladigital.etsy.com ), I'm also a cosplayer and a costuming, puppetry, and creature-creation enthusiast for pretty much my whole life.

I looked forward to Halloween every year while growing up, and often worked with my mother to decide on a more unique costume than those usually found in stores. I made my first costume entirely on my own when I was 13, a velociraptor which included a mask with a moving jaw. In the years that followed, I created costumes for myself off and on, and usually had something new to wear for Halloween each year.

Enter the rise of comic conventions and the popularity of cosplay. While my dinosaur so many years ago is technically my first cosplay, I had no idea what the word meant - if it was even a word back then! I found myself suddenly in a wonderful world where costuming didn't have to be confined to one time of year, nor was it an activity "just for kids". I found myself fascinated by a character in a video game, Garrus Vakarian, and knew I had to bring him to life.

Like a flame rekindled, my love of costuming returned in full force. It's always been about creating creatures for me, whether terrifying monsters, fantasy beasts, or strange alien species. Creating masks is my specialty, but I hope to help inspire creativity in others too... so you'll find some finished products here, but mostly components you can use to bring your own creations to life! I make horns, claws, and mask blanks, primarily out of cast resin, but sometimes using other materials as well. Each listing has full details about how it was made and what materials were used.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it. Happy costuming!

Welcome to the Red Nebula Cosplay shop! Here, you'll find a multitude of raw cast items to help you bring your costume to reality, as well as finished pieces. I specialize in resin-cast masks and props, in addition to components like horns, claws, and sculpted detail pieces. I hope you enjoy the work you'll find here!

This is one of three of our Etsy shops. If you love dragons, you may want to take a look at both our other two shops:
- https://rednebulastudios.etsy.com - This shop is for my (mostly) fantasy artwork, prints, buttons, bookmarks, and my husband's beautiful chainmaille jewelry.
- https://rednebuladigital.etsy.com - This one is for digital downloads, including coloring pages.

Shipping
Most items in this store are cast when ordered and take up to 2 weeks to be shipped, depending on my current workload. Each listing will say the length of time it takes for that item to be ready to ship.

When you purchase a made-to-order item or items, I will send a message via Etsy to let you know when your order will be shipped.

If you need an item sooner, take a look at my RUSH ORDER option here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/399629221/rush-order-upgrade (Please note: If the rush order listing is sold out or unavailable, that means I don't have rush slots available at this time.)

Finished items (painted masks/props) are already made and will be shipped within 3 business days. If an item is ready to ship right away, it is noted on the individual listing.

- Domestic Orders (within the United States) -

Items will ship via USPS First Class or Priority. One-of-a-kind items over $20 will have insurance included in the price of shipping. Your item will typically arrive at its destination between 2-10 days of being shipped.

- International Orders -

International shipping is available to Canada. International orders ship via USPS First Class International or Priority International. Please note that I will only ship one-of-a-kind items with shipping options that include insurance and tracking, which can be somewhat expensive. International orders may take as long as 6-8 weeks to arrive, please be patient.

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional import costs will be prior to buying.

It is illegal to falsify customs information (such as marking the item as a gift or a lower price to avoid customs fees). I will NOT do so, so please do not ask.

- Incorrect Shipment Address / Return to Sender Packages -

Please make sure to double-check your shipping address before placing an order! The buyer is responsible for providing a correct shipping address.

If a buyer enters an incorrect address and the package is subsequently returned to us, we will refund the order minus the shipping cost and the buyer is free to purchase again (after updating their address). If the package is lost due to an incorrect address, we cannot provide a refund.

Information I Collect

To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. I do not ever receive any of your credit card or PayPal details, as that is handled entirely through Etsy.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
- as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfill your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
- if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
- as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
- Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
- Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
- Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 7 years.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
- Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
- Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
- Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
- Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

How to Contact Me

For purposes of EU data protection law, I, Sarrah Wilkinson, am the data controller of your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me at contactus [!at] rednebulastudios.com.

Frequently asked questions
Do you do commissions or custom work?

I'm sorry, but my schedule doesn't allow time for me to take commissions or custom projects. I am happy to take suggestions, but I cannot guarantee what you're looking for is something I will end up making.

Will you attach a strap to a mask blank for me?

It's best to paint your mask prior to attaching the strap, so I don't offer them with the straps already installed. The strap just gets in the way during the painting process, especially priming.

I do also have a simple strap kit available that comes with instructions: http://www.etsy.com/listing/236565095

Can I attach horns (or other items) with spirit gum?

My cast resin horns, fangs, and other such items are meant as embellishments for props or masks, and weren't made with the intention to be attached directly to skin as a prosthetic. It may be possible to apply some of the lighter pieces to the skin with spirit gum, but I have not tried this and can't guarantee the results.

What kind of paints and glues work well with your blank masks and props?

I send a guide along with each purchase with tips on how to paint your mask, what kinds of glues to use, and more. You can view this online here: http://www.rednebulastudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Blank-Face-Mask-Guide.pdf

I also send a similar guide for non-mask props, but the information is largely the same. You can view the prop guide here: http://www.rednebulastudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Blank-Resin-Prop-Guide.pdf
