About

Hello! I am a potter based out of Austin, TX and I specialize in mainly wheel-thrown work with a few hand-built pieces.
I started off at a community college in my hometown the summer following my high school graduation. I immediately fell in love with clay after I took my first ceramics course, and never looked back. I studied art and design at the University of North Texas, and finished my education at Texas State University. Finances and lack of space/resources kept me from doing pottery for a few years, so I'm ecstatic to be able to get my hands dirty again.
The meaning behind my shop name stems from the weird obsession with science fiction I had through the duration of my childhood. I used to mentally pretend that I was alone on another planet (Mars) when I would get momentarily stressed out. It was my "happy place" if you will, and as an adult, I now consider pottery to be my happy place.
Every vessel is created, glazed and fired in my small home studio, which is coincidentally one of my favorite places to spend an entire day. I dabble with various styles/techniques, and my own personal technique is ever-changing. I usually find that a typical form of mine contains cultural/traditional elements, while my style of glazing tends to be modern and less controlled.
I'm not what you would consider a "production potter", I'm incredibly experimental and the monotony of production pottery is deterring to me. Each piece is different and is ALWAYS special to me. I may make something similar to another piece, but will never exactly the same.
There is a beautiful feeling while holding and using a functional, handmade piece of pottery. Using my work in your day to day life is immensely important to me, and the glazes/clay bodies I use are strong enough to withstand food and potted plants.
I hope my ceramics will give you as much warmth and happiness as they have given me!

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES:

Please contact me within **3 days** if there is a problem with your order. If your order arrives in broken pieces, don't worry, we can find a solution! If this happens to you, here's what you do:

1. Immediately photograph the package and the broken piece(s).
2. Contact me ASAP to let me know about the situation.
3. A replacement will be on the way as soon as possible.

All sales are final, but if you are truly unhappy with your order please contact me within 3 days and we will work something out. I want you to be happy with your purchase!

Due to the delicate nature of handmade ceramics, pieces may break, even with normal wear & tear, and I cannot (unfortunately) be responsible for broken pieces months down the road. My pieces are made to be durable, but please use care. Even though my pieces are dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended for the longevity of your piece.
Payment
Buyers pay before finishing the ordering process.
Shipping
If you live out of the country, message me and we can work out shipping.
