Passionate hobby turned growing business!
Welcome to Red Stone!
We are Charles & Katie Smith, who live in the heart of Oklahoma where the red dirt and clay is abundant! This, of course, is where we have derived our company name and nod to the Oklahoma Rose Rock. Katie conceived the company name. If Charles had his way, it would have been called "Dad Rocks", the popular favorite of their many sons (7 total).
For over 20 years, Charles has shared his passion for all things fossil and mineral with his children by taking them on scores of hiking and fossil collecting trips all over the Midwest.
While those trips still continue regularly, in recent years Charles developed a passion for Green River fossils and began also taking the trip to Wyoming to quarry fossil fish to bring home to his "prep lab" where the specimens are exposed using specialty equipment and prepared for sale.
Additionally, over time, Charles has networked extensively and sources (imports, trades, etc.) quality fossil and mineral specimens from all over the world to offer to our customers.
We have been BLESSED to be able to operate this business at the capacity we are now (and growing steadily). Our production team, led by Mrs. Kimi Hardin has a passion to provide our customers with the best experiences. Kimi pours herself into the work, making sure communications are high, logistics needs are met, packaging is top notch, and she always tries to go the extra mile to make sure our customers have a great experience when they open packages from Red Stone.
