Announcement    For more than 40 years I have been working with books, bookmaking, and books as objects, using the printed page to explore my place in the world. My work reflects my interests in the Eastern woodlands and its estuaries and brook trout, as well as the interrelated arts and political ecosystems of Cuba.

Living in rural Massachusetts for 27 years has given me a broad canvas to observe and engage with the landscape through site-specific book installations and nature prints. I often work with handmade paper and make direct prints from objects I find on the 12 acres of land where I live.

My online shop has original prints, artist books, and select curated vintage books and prints. If you are interested in commissioned pieces, please reach out. To learn more about my art and artistic practice, visit redtrilliumpress.com.

Nature printing; documenting the forest

While I am new to Etsy, I have been a working artist for over 40 years exploring the Eastern woodlands, rivers and estuaries, in addition to working in Cuba with Cuban printmakers and book artists. Here on these pages I bring my passion for Brook trout, fish, woodlands, printmaking, book arts and Cuba.

Living in rural Massachusetts for twenty-seven years on 12 acres of land has given me a broad canvas to observe and engage with the landscape though sight specific book installations and nature prints.

A few years ago, I acquired a wall tent creating a studio in the woods. Large enough of hold a 4 x 8 table, this gives me 3 seasons outdoors where nature directly influences my printmaking.

This summer I returned to a passion I have enjoyed for decades; nature printing. There is a directness to the matrix – whether it is a fish, tree stump, deer leg or leaf these objects let my fingers feel the image. Working with handmade papers allow for a molding of the matrix to my hands, ink and paper.

I am adding unique vintage prints and printing a new series of tree stumps often. Please visit again to see new work.
