About RachelReevesPhoto
Mustangs & Mayhem
In 2008 I adopted my first mustang, Bandit. After a very rocky start to our relationship I decided that I had to visit Bandit's birthplace for myself, if only to find out other horses as ridiculous as my goofball could possibly exist. It turned out there were! Each horses I encountered had their own peculiarities and I immediately fell in love with the sense of spirit & pride that these wild horses possessed.
Now utterly hooked, I bought my first camera and began to regularly visit wild horse herds across Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, capturing glimpses and stories in the horses' everyday lives. I am also an advocate for the wild horses horses who belong in their natural habitat rather than being captured by the tens of thousands to live and die in BLM holding facilities or worse. This is an achievable goal as we have the tools needed for genuine on the range management.
In addition to wild horses, I have learned to love photographing all wildlife to help show their beauty and importance to the ecosystem.
I believe in the importance of ethical wildlife photography. All of the images in my shop are of wild animals in their natural environment. I do not harass or bait animals, use game farms, or present captive animals as wild.
