Where I started:

Reframed started from looting through my sister's farmhouse basement. Her husband's great uncle, who had owned the family farm before them, attended auctions and amassed an interesting array of odds and ends. Some of these materials included old books, wallpaper samples, and picture frames. These have been my inspiration and base materials for Reframed.

My mom taught me how to work with wood stain, varnish and paint, and how to sand and strip wood - we used to work together to refinish my old dresser and end tables. I now use predominantly water-based stains/varnishes/sealants and acrylic paints to reduce my use of harmful chemicals such as VOCs, making my products healthier to make and use.
